Not really going to make a long drawn out and sentimental post like I did in 2010 when I closed LighT for the first time.
The reasonings here are different, and primarily personal. A lot of people who know me know that I was involved in a lot of different things (NASL, CSL, Fnatic/LighT, and other things). Over the past year I've been cutting down the number of commitments, as I get more involved in things, my time goes down.
For me, CSL is a full time job, and really it's more than that. It's the primary focus of my life right now and unfortunately this means that I really don't have the time to manage LighT the way it should be managed.
Funding is not really an issue, but I'm at a point where I can continue the team on a status-quo basis, and frankly I'm not rich and that just wouldn't be a smart way to use my money. The investment is worth it if I had the time to do the necessary things: help build my players personalities, help attain sponsorships, help the development, work on marketing, etc. Right now though, I don't have the time to do that, so I've decided to close down the team.
2012 was a really great year, I had Golden live with me, Binski stayed with me during the summer, and StarDust during the fall. I really enjoyed the team and everyone on it and view them all as family and hope they feel the same.
I've been thinking about it for the past 3 weeks or so since the CSL Finals ended.

Well, that sucks that you have to close it down...but as people have said, definitely better to put an end to it than to half-ass it trying to do too much. Great work up til now, and keep doing awesome things with CSL! Also, good luck to all the players of course.

I'd like to think we did pretty well last year. We pulled in about 20k in prize money, stayed within budget, and I managed to get two financial sponsorships.
Just couldn't continue to put in that amount of work I did from january - july of last year.
I do regret that we never got to finish the full website

It's not an issue in that I have the funds.
It is an issue because I don't have time to run the team, so it's an issue (I.E. I'm not going to spend money just for the sake of it)

I love your leagues and your products Xeris running those may be your true calling. CSL Finals were great loved seeing Cal win it for the USA against Korea, so emotional!
NASL is something right on the cusp of beating MLG in viewers I feel, you have the casters, the looks, I just think people are not taking to it right away because of the first 2 season issues (e.g. NASL Sound Guy), I hope it can be the premier North American league and I would love to see it be NA only to grow the scene I realize you have to make cash on the famous Koreans/Euros though.
I just can't wait for HotS NASL season, should be epic~

I had a team manager (Ursadon). It's not really the day to day stuff, it's the business side and development of the brand that I don't have time to do.
I can do the daily management no problem, or someone else can do it... it's that the other big picture stuff is an issue

I was in LighT in BW, and it was the first team I had been in that actually meant something to me (competitively speaking).
Living in the Seattle area meant being great friends with Kawaii, Tilea, and everyone else, so it felt pretty natural for me to make the switch from NrS to LighT when I came home from Romania in December. I'm really sad that my time in the team was so short, but I know that we will maintain all of our friendships and show the potential that all of us have in HotS! All of LighT's players should have no problem finding a team. Anyways, love you guys!
As for me, I've returned to NrS.
