i think zergs like vortix, snute, xlord, ret, tlo and slivko wont win a lot of games anyway if any at all. so after the group stage the racial distribution should be quite even again.

Korean racial distribution is 4P - 3Z - 3T... and thats what will actually matter for the playoffs. maybe +stephano

You can count Lucifron.... hes Code S level

In what way is he even Code A level?
Stephano is in the U&D and you think Lucifron is Code S?

Anyways exciting event, looking forward to watching meta develop in HoTS.
Will this tournament have a Fruitdealer winning?

LucifroN has definitely proved he is better than Stephano lately

lol where are these posts coming from

Here my predictions:

Group A

1) PartinG
Being one of the best WoL players and with enough time to prepair for HotS, PartinG should be able to take this group.
2) Lucifron
Lucifron went full pro and showed amazing results lately - in both WoL and HotS (although starting late). With the strengh of Terran, i see Lucifron going 2nd over YongHwa
3) YongHwa
Very good and often underrated WoL protoss. I havent seen anything of him in HotS, one can just assume that he is well prepared for this event. 2nd or 3rd for him.
------------------------------------
4) Nerchio
Nerchio has proven how good of a Zerg he is in WoL. He started HotS reletively late, and didnt impress a whole lot yet. With his overall skill and some time left, he should finish around rank 4 in this group.
5) HasuObs
HasuObs is one of the better protosses in the HotS ladder right now. I still dont feel he will do extremly well in this group, because his style is too predictable and exploitable i feel - never attack! Also, the others have some time to keep up left.
6) sLivko
With how strong every group at this IEM is, and concidering that Zerg doesnt look all so strong right now, i dont feel like slivko has a good shot here. he was known for his broodlord / infestor playstyle in WoL, which might hurt him here. Still a good player obviously, but just too hard of a group i think.

Group B

1) YoDa
YoDa is strong, he had time to play HotS presumably, and terran looks good as well. YoDa should take this group.
2) First
Well, pretty much what i siad for YoDa. Although i would rate him a bit lower overall - might be a close battle for rank 2-4
3) Kas
I believe in Kas! He was sick good in WoL, and HotS should just make him better. Despite starting relatively late with the HotS training, he will do it
------------------------------------
4) MC
Well, MC is hard to judge. He had to play a lot of WoL for Code S, but he might just come up with sick new builds and slay everyone. I doubt that though and the group is hard.
5) Ret
Ret showed some rly good HotS play so far and seems to be on the upswing. But this group O.O I dont think he can break into the top4 here :/
6) XlorD
Poor XlorD. I doubt he will go far here, but thats what i thought before HomeStoryCup as well.

Group C

1) Sting
Hard group to predict, but Sting plays quite a bit of HotS, hes korean, he is terran and he won an IEM recently. he should top this group.
2) viOLet
viOLet is one of the best zergs out there, that is both in WoL and HotS - he played a lot of HotS as well. i give him a pretty clear second rank.
3) VortiX
Well, it gets harder here. I dont quite know how much HotS VortiX played, but he is simply really, really good. I think he might clinch rank 3 here.
--------------------------
4) MaNa
MaNa plays quite some HotS and hes obviously pretty good. With so many Zergs in his group, and this being his worst WoL matchup, i dont know if he can make it through. We will see!
5) Socke
Being the national hero and doing very well in major tournaments usually, Socke might end up winning the group - or placing last. The question is: does he play HotS at all? I dont really know...
6) Snute
Snute hasent looked particularly good in his first couple of HotS matches. One has to mention that he started playing it really, really late though. Im not quite sure if his WoL skill will transition over to HotS fast enough to do well here. I have to give him rank 5 or 6 therefore.

Group D

1) MVP
It's MVP. ???
2) Dream
Sick good korean terran, persumably playing HotS quite a bit. Should be 2nd here.
3) Stephano
He plays quite some HotS and its Stephano. Although not having the greatest results lately compared to previous times, he is still one of the best. Zerg is HotS doesnt look to hot though, we will see how much he can do.
----------------------------
4) Grubby
Grubby plays HotS for quite a long time now. Sadly, he doesnt impress me all too much honestly, at least i doubt he can qualify out of this hard of a group. But he is a tournament player after all, hard conenteder for rank 3, but i rank him 4.
5) TLO
Plays just as much if not more HotS than Grubby. He CAN end up placing third since he surely has some nice builds prepared and he is a great player, but i simply dont think he will end up beating the korean terrans, stephano or grubby.
6) Golden
I dont know a whole lot about Goldens HotS experience, but i dont think he can do a whole lot in such a strong group. I place him last.

Group D is going to be really fun to watch. Hope Stephano performs well here. His GSL performance was lacking :/ Hope Grubby and TLO do well too, but this group is just too much.

IT IS HOTS.

Make no mistake kids, Mvp will lay the hammer here, not even dropping a single map the entire tournament.

Here is the map pool: http://www.esl-world.net/masters/season7/hanover/news/215586/

Antiga Shipard, Akilon Flats, Cloud Kingdom, Daybreak, Entombed Valley, Metropolis, NewKirk District, Ohana, and Star Station.

Pretty awful map pool in my opinion. Especially Antiga, ohana, and entombed. Star Station is also a pretty shitty map...

He got there via a zvz though, and against jookto, who i think we can all agree is not exactly a bonjwa. Golden lost in the next round
