loyalty won't pay for living expenses. also, see TSL's framework for "loyalty"

The teams do though. Not saying there's anything wrong with wanting more, because there really isn't.

I wonder if the foreign team trend is starting to shift to KeSPA trend now for the ESF Korean players.

the teams will support the players when they're in the team house/on the team, sure. but from what i've seen, it's almost expected of young players that are well off to funnel funds to their parents, at least in some respect. concurrently, after their progaming career, hopefully they have some money saved so they can continue to support themselves in future ventures. i'm not saying this as like a definitive thing, but it definitely would make their lives easier.

I didn't realize that the elephant was actually ESF players overtaking Kespa players...

Evil plan by startale coach to infiltrate all of the Kespa teams with one of his players? They utilise their experience to become coaches for each of their teams, rise through the organisation that destroy Kespa from the inside? :O

Posts like this make me want to cry. No one knows how much he is currently earning or how much he is asking for. SC players have a relatively short shelf life and the competition is brutal

Big loss for Startale, but i am sure they will recover

Someone postet earlier in this thread that Parting made about 20k on Startale and there was another post/article saying he now makes about 70k.

I foresee more eSF players leaving their teams for KeSPA.
The appeal is just too good. Money & stability at the cost of slightly less freedom.
Hey, if people aren't mad at you, you're doing something wrong.

Coeteris paribus, yes. But if you know anything about economy you would predict that eSF is going to become a little bit more aggressive in player salaries. They will make sponsors pay up more money so that the players don't leave the team.

More exciting is if ESF and Kespa start becoming more and more money from sponsors just from the drama the two groups create. First Esf gets more money, then Kespa gets more money, suddenly foreign teams *have* to start making Korea their focus, and it will be a Kespa/ESF/World madness

Or maybe I'm being too hopeful.

I think you are. ^w^

But I don't think that is the future of "e-sports" (ew, I hate this name). SC will become more and more an individual game, and not team-based anymore, having only some minor team events just like tennis. Tennis have a lot of individual players, but the mid tier ones are in clubs, and once they break out they become individually coached and sometimes go to a Davis Cup (which I don't even know if it still exists).
