Correction: Daily ESPORTS mistakenly reported earlier that Jaedong would return to Team Eight immediately should they find a sponsor. This was a misunderstanding; Jaedong's 1 year period with EG is binding.

I really feel like this news is worrying, because top Kespa players make so much money..and while I'm sure the bankroll of Jaedong from EG will be quite large, I don't see one of Kespa's most popular players going to a foreign team a good sign for how Sc2 is doing for Korea. With LoL dominating there, it looks troublesome that the most sought after Korean players are seeking outside opportunities. It is one thing to see this from ESF players because they often lack sponsors (minus LG-IM), but for Kespa teams its something different. Am I way off the mark here? Or do we just don't care bc Jaedong is on EG :D
As previously stated team 8 has no real sponsor right now and Jaedong sureley gets a pretty big salary. If you read carefully Jaedong is only leased to EG for a year. This is good for everyone involved cause Jaedong gets his salary and gets to go to foreign events, EG gets Jaedong and Team 8 doesn't have to pay JDs salary for a year and hopefully is able to land some sponsors. As far as I understand, EG has no option to extend the contract and neither does JD unless team 8 (read Kespa) is willing to let him go.

Problem for Team 8 is that Jaedong will be playing for other team the whole year. While Team 8 doesn't have to pay Jaedong's salary, what sponsors would like to sponsor a team that's star and "face" is playing for another one?
After the year has ended, if Jaedong still wants to continue with EG and EG want's to keep Jaedong, but Kespa won't "allow it", i'm sure Jaedong can always leave Kespa and move on.
