Tt eSPORTS and “Tastosis” Reach Partnership Agreement
November 14, 2012 – Taipei, Taiwan – Tt eSPORTS and eSports Management Group announced today the formal sponsorship and endorsement of the two celebrity Starcraft II and E-Sports commentators Nick “Tasteless” Plott and Dan “Artosis” Stemkoski. The two have paired up over the past 3 years to provide the highest quality E-Sports commentary and entertainment to millions of viewers world-wide.
The endorsement provides Tt eSPORTS the opportunity to co-operate with “Tastosis” as we bring product development to a completely higher echelon in the year 2013. Tasteless and Artosis will be featured in licensed products designed with their knowledge and input to offer an unparalleled experience to gamers and fans all over the world. Their design ideas and technical specification requirements will be seamlessly implemented into a range of Tt eSPORTS products that will span over mice, keyboards and headsets.
Tt eSPORTS’ Global Esports Community Manager Eric Brinkley commented on the agreement: “Being first and foremost a huge fan of Tastosis through my time as a viewer of their widely popular GSL Code-S entertainment experience, I am thrilled at the prospect of working with Nick and Dan to further our product development and encourage the growth of E-Sports world-wide. It will be my distinct pleasure to accommodate them in providing countless hours of joy and entertainment to millions of people around the globe. There is good reason why they are 2 of the most influential and essential people in the E-Sports scene and I hope with our partnership, both brands in Tt eSPORTS and Tastosis continue to grow and prosper.”
“I am super excited to be working with Tt eSPORTS to develop products suitable for both competitive and casual use,” said Artosis, “and I hope that this partnership will become a huge connection between a premier gaming peripherals brand and players, fans and personalities as we all work together to bring more growth and prosperity into the E-Sports scene.”
Tasteless, familiar with Tt eSPORTS’ other brand beacons such as Aleksey “White-Ra” Krupnyk and Jung Hoon “MarineKing” Lee, also remarked on the partnership: “I have been friends with White-Ra for many years, and I have been following his progress with Tt eSPORTS since the announcement of his sponsorship in 2011. I am extremely happy that Artosis and I will be able to join up with Aleksey and players from the PRIME team like MarineKing to develop E-Sports products and provide more entertaining content to our fans.”
Tasteless and Artosis will be attending the IGN Pro League 5 (IPL5) event in Las Vegas at the end of November where they will be commentating at the Global Starcraft League Code-S finals that will be hosted at the venue. They will join PRIME players MarineKing, Byun and Creator in connecting with Starcraft II and E-Sports fans and enthusiasts under the Tt eSPORTS brand.
Congratulations to Tt and Tastosis, a very interesting partnership indeed!

This was the most interesting part for me. Byun and Creator qualified for non paid flights to IPL 5. This sounds like tte will be paying for their flights now and also sounds like MKP going to IPL 5 over WCG! Well I hope at least. Going to hope MKP beats ryung to guarantee he will go to IPL 5 cause of GSL just in case.

So as far as I can tell, Tastosis will help them design peripherals in return for sponsorship. If there's more to it, I'd be interested to hear it.

And thus probably also promote their gear for said sponsorship.

No. The marketing will be that it is "designed to their specifications", because they'd like you to believe it is, but reality will be that they'll be shown the product before release and that's about it. Do you think Fatal1ty helped design all of his motherboards?

Artosis seems pretty motivated to do it, or he's just doing good PR, dunno

I just hope he doesn't go to plugging like crazy again back with EG then.

They block porn in korea? How does a man does his stuff then?

This is nonsense. These sorts of partnerships indicate the burgeoning legitimacy, stability, and financial possibility of e-sports. So hush with the nonsense rabble rousing.

Get a girlfriend or a prostitute? Idk but Id guess those would be the options :D
Not like Tastosis couldnt do without a sponsorship. Tbh I´d rather see them sponser some lesser known casters or upcoming players but in the E-sports world we cant afford to complain about sponserships. Not yet at least

You'll note he typed esports in all caps, this is the most common way to indicate sarcasm in a "ruining esports" post. Just a public service announcement.

Uh...if you can't do "your stuff" without porn, it is probably time to take break from it.
The Tasteless mouse is probably a cross between a mouse and a flask so you can get sauced while collecting ladder points. (I kid of course!)
In all seriousness, congratulations to them. They've definitely made a lot out of the Tastosis brand name so far and definitely are putting a ton of work into it.

As awesome as it sounds I don't know how a glowing ball of energy will help you play Starcraft... Unless he coaches you with the intelligent in-depth knowledge of Artosis and the.. uhh.. charismatic filler talk of Tasteless! You'll never be bored again while you play your safe turtley macro game and continue to get more ahead!

creator and byun are being paid for their trips to IPL5, yeah. i asked on stream :D not sure about mkp, but mkp should make ro4 this season anyway
Gratz to Tastosis!! Now let's just hope they won't design products that looks as bad as most of the TteSports products. I mean, a keyboard and a mouse with a fan, WTH?? And their new mouse is ugly as... Also, please make sure that their mechanical keyboards will come with the options of choosing the type of switch, a lot of gamers doesn't like blacks (which is the only switch they sell atm)
This is really good for them, I felt the AlphaBrain or whatever Tasteless endorsed was a little sketch but this is a solid, solid choice. You can't really go wrong with gaming peripherals. eSports people love their peripherals. I haven't even seen the Artosis keyboard but man I kind of want it already.
I'm curious about how this will actually work in practice.
I wouldn't really expect the sponsors of the events they cast to be happy with them plugging their personal sponsors on air, or wearing Tt jackets etc.
Thermaltake is doing really well in the scene, so awesome of them! I'm guessing that they (sponsored players/casters) have some input over the design of the device, as they have to use it (at least in public) I don't think Tastosis is that desperate for sponsors that they would sell out like that? And players like WhiteRa can't use a crappy mouse all day, me thinks.
(For work) I buy&build around 5-10 generic computers every month and no one really cares what brand the components are, so I always house them in a TT case & PSU, Intel CPU & SSD and Kingston RAM My way of saying thanks to some of the SC2/eSport sponsors!
About Fatal1ty: I remember a lot of people advising me NOT to buy his mouse as it was designed around his rather small hand and not comfortable for a lot of people.

Yeah, I can't imagine them being able to plug Tt during events, because they're hired professionals and already get their compensation from the tournament organizers.
I guess the sponsor-plugging will be limited to commercials and casting at Tt-sponsored events.

Nice, Artosis is really deserving all the good things that will happen to him Tasteless too of course, but I feel Artosis is working more (perhaps I'm wrong).
i understand that tt sport want famous people on the boxes of their products but why would you buy a keyboard/mouse which was designed by caster..... thought theyd rather get players instead, but i guess fame of players goes up and comes down so rapidly that they want guys who stay at the top.

Tt stands for Thermaltake, a company that was mostly known for their cases, power supplies and cooling products. The last couple of years, they've been expanding into the gaming peripherals market with the standard offering of keyboard / mouse / mousepad / headset. They market this under the name 'Tt esports'. They're sponsoring a number of people / teams. Most notably White-Ra, who was the first big sponsorship-project from Tt.

Because the best players don't matter as much as the most visible players. Some casters are more visible than GSL winners.
