Do you think he woke up one morning, saw a cowboy hat outside his window, and went, 'Damn, I really wanna go to Dallas now!' If he wanted to play in the open bracket so badly, he could have told GOM a few days before and probably switched his group to one of the last. I'm curious if Polt asked for his group to be early or late so he could go to MLG or if it just worked out that way. I think I remember reading days ago that he wanted to attend. Wouldn't be surprised if Rain hoped to qualify via the MvP invitational and, after he was knocked out on the 21st, approached SKT1 with his desire to attend. Add a few days of KeSPA/GOM looking for a way to make the schedule work, and you more or less end up in the present. Naturally I'm speculating a bit, but I don't think there's some nefarious plot going on by anyone.

Still its not a lock he would make it that far. Crazy things can happen. It is this season, and it is the semi-finals and finals that will take place at IPL5

But, given the path he had through the round of 32, it seems reasonable to think he'd have a better chance of making it to Las Vegas than getting top 3 at MLG (and lets be honest, he clearly won't be happy with anything less than first). I wonder how much say he is getting in the process.

The gom statement says Kespa only informed Gom of his decision to attend on the 29th, which is clearly not enough time to reschedule, since you would be moving players up who thought they were playing next week on such short notice.

Still, GL in MLG, I hope you win it but I hope SKT, Rain and Kespa think things through much better next time. Even though he's my favorite player, sanctions from GOM should be in order.

The thought of SKT asking GOM on the freaking 29th to reschedule is ludicrous in itself. "Hey, yeah, Rain wants to go to MLG Dallas in the open bracket. Would it be okay if you screw over a group that thought they weren't playing until seven days from now and make them play in two days so that our player can go to MLG?"

You guys really need to learn that you do not have any control over Rain's life. His decisions are his decisions.
