giving up a spot in the most prestigious tournament in the game to go to mlg and fight through the open bracket? i smell conspiracy. maybe there is something i don't know yet- another good reason. since mlg is shorter and opens more space in his schedule for other stuff- even though it seems that originally at least sk wanted him to participate in code s (which would have ultimately not given him the additional flexibility in schedule at all but rather much more stress). but then again sk might have known that there could be no way that gom could let this one slide as it would have been a signal for other teams and players. so they may have just played along to make it seem as if they cared about gom knowing it would all lead to this from the beginning... either way it seems like a big joke... there's been all kinds of fuzz literally every season since sc1 scene/kespa has switched. might all be coincidence of course

Guys its not Kespa or MLG fault, its GOM and IGN.Because of moving GSL finals. This rely needs to be sorted out between MLG and GOM so it wouldn't happen again (its not the first time such things have happened). As for Rain decision i think its a bad one.

This sucks but Rain isn't about money for sure because he has contract with one of two richest teams in SC but it's about a sure tourney win and more exposure for SKT and Rain himself.

Sucks that there is a schedule conflict. Really wanted to watch Rain play in both Code S and MLG

Calm down guys...
If you were a top player like rain/Stephano, you prefer mlg, me too. Player have always a other view than fans/audience.

I think I remember Rain saying something like "I dunno, perhaps go to america and win some tournaments" as an answer to what he would like to do in the future when he won WCS Asia.
And the fact that he got a Code A place tells me that it was an honest case of bad planning and not a douche move.

Ugh, this is not good. I really hope this was rain's decision.

Damn, I was so exited for GSL to watch rain all the way. He was amazing last time =(

i think this is the writing on the wall that sc2 in korea is beat. players like rain realizing that the gsl wont be premier competition for very much longer

GSL is pretty cut throat. It may be the most prestigious, but it's also a minefield. Why wouldn't you go to MLG if you have a legitimate chance of winning? (which he does).

I don't see GSL losing status as premier league any time soon. Certainly not because one team messed up the scheduling for one of their players.

It is MLG and KeSPA's fault 100%, this was a very late announcement, if there was really a schedule conflict with MLG Dallas, they would have known a lot earlier than this, and maybe Rain could be replaced.

no if you're truly a top player you prefer GSL because it has the highest payout, stephano dodges it because he knows he can't get in the big money in the top two so it's not worth the time to him.

They are the best when it comes to adjusting schedule but they aren't magicians.
