GSL has repeatedly accommodated players in the past by moving their match later or earlier. the mistake was deciding to go to MLG so late. He was just confirmed yesterday, well i guess 2 days ago now.

Like Fionn said, this is either incredible incompetence by SKT management or foul play. Or maybe Rain decided himself that he wanted to go but did so last minute. Maybe he was only recently made aware of the fact that you could attend mlg "uninvited" via the open bracket. There are certainly more than those two reasons why this was announced late.

I get the feeling from Rain's interviews that he's not the regular money hunter guy, like so many other pros. If he wanted to play in GSL and MLG at the same time I think he could just have told them in time and GOM could make his group play next week. I think this has more to do with him wanting to go abroad, testing his stamina in the open bracket, and preparing for the WCS Global Finals and so forth. One thing I don't understand though is choosing MLG over Code S you get a lot more exposure with your play style and builds, potentially weakening chances of winning let's say WCS Global Finals. However I don't think this will affect his MLG run so much since his announcement to participate in MLG came so late, not giving enough time for the possibility to snipe him. Expect to see at least a round of eight appearance by him this weekend! ![]()

WCS Asia was gauntlet format and he won that. But regardless, im pretty mad about this. Not sure about whether to be mad at GOM for being inflexible with their schedule, or KeSPA for forcing him to do this or Rain himself for shitty decisions.

They even asked the teams for their schedules to be able to fix all the conflictes with other tournaments. But when you ask for a change on the day Code S starts, 3 days in front of your own group, there isn't much anybody can do about that.
