Anyway, not a big deal. I'm guessing the majority of people posting in this thread have never been in their local pub or bar. They seem completely sheltered to be offended by something like this. And how exactly does it have anything to do with this situation? Stephano is representing team EG and their sponsors, he is not your regular random dude in a bar.

Too many people here seem to be getting confused because they don't seem to realise that age of consent differs in various countries. In my country the age of consent is 16. Stephano just came back from DreamHack Valencia, Spain where the age of consent is 13. He is now going to Korea where the age of consent is 14!
So all those outraged about Stephano for joking about abusing a 14 yr old, should perhaps realise you are also criticising Spain and Korea because they have different views on this than you. It's not as if Stephano has been hanging around Lucifron and Koreans a lot recently!

Final verdict: - Stephano not so bright - Stephano probably NOT a pedophile - Steph fans mad - punishment debatable but predictable - life goes on

Manners, just like morality are subjective and personal. You can not force your personal standards on someone else. Stephen Fry, one of the best educated and most intelligent people on television uses foul language all the time about all kinds of people and is a great proponent of the right to say what you want in any manner (oh the irony) you choose.
SC players are actually very well educated in general, Nony is a very polite guy for the most part. Unlike say NFL players, most of whom wouldn't have got in to college if not for a scholarship to play football. Please, please, please stop thinking that your standards are better than anyone elses.

If you're not smart enough to understand that you can't casually admit that you're a sex criminal when you are a public personality (or anyone, for that matter) then you deserve to spend a very bad couple of months while everything is sorted out. Every post of yours I've read uses the term sexual criminal or some variation of. Making a joke doesn't make you a criminal, at least not in most places I've been to. you don't seem (or perhaps want) to be able to grasp the fact that words do not mean ANYTHING. If there were evidence that Stephano actually had sex with a 14 year old girl, he would have been fired. Please stop reffering to him as a criminal, you may not like him but that doesn't make him a bad guy.
Calumny, on the other hand, can be a reason people get sued.
ps: Fyodor is just a troll. Ignore him.

In what way is this paedophilia?
It was a comment about a 14 year old, not admission or evidence over a love of children. Abusing teenagers is nothing like paedophilia.
It's really starting to piss me off that people are just throwing around words like "paedophilia" and "rape". Neither of those things are remotely true.
Until he's been proven to have actually done anything with a 14 year old, the only thing that should be punished are the comments - and EG's course of action seems totally appropriate and necessary.

You have to remember that Stephano is not only representing EG but also the brands/sponsors who have put their money towards EG. While I dare say these comments were just light-hearted joking between 2 friends, he has to remember that he is representing his sponsors.
A lot of people were upset with the comments (and its their right to be)..I would think EG were under pressure to show some kind of disciplinary action. Personally, I think the punishment is justified as I think the comments were gross, but seriously, its hardly a punishment for Stephano..
The fact that it was meant to be a 'private' conversation means nothing. If you were walking down the street and overheard some guy telling another guy he just abused a 14yo girl would you look at it in the same way?
Some things you just don't joke about. Not accusing Stephano of anything here.

What is it with people being confused into thinking the serious thing here is people being offended at the WORDS he said instead of the IMPLICATIONS of the words.
When someone admits to one of the worst, most highly punishable crimes worldwide then it goes beyond "being offended" and goes in the territory of being a major threat to society and he could spend the next few years in jail.
France, please investigate Mr.Satouri so he can clear his name. At least I hope he can clear his name.

Way to blow this of fucking proption... If EG would just have let it go after Stephanos apology at twitter it would have been forgotten within a week. Instead it will be remembered for the duration of Stephanos suspension and probably longer. Not to mention I would say that this move from EG created way more bad publicity for their sponsor than Stephanos comments did. Personally I dont think what Stephano wrote even needs an apology because it should obvious to anyone who is not a complete fucking retard that it was a joke. EG are pouring in a lot of money and attention do sc2 which is all good but I lost total respect for their professionalism and I no longer support EG as a team (I do however cheer for specific members).

Stephano made some inappropriate/dumb comment and it's good to see EG doing something about it. It is unfortunate that due to the suspension that he will not be participating in DH or the GD tournament.
Is this part of the reason he is going to Korea now or will this impact his trip to Korea? *No traveling to events (DH, etc.)
