Considering the money he will earn from being an EG player and considering how reserved he will become, it begs the question if stephano has sold his soul to the devil? nah, he always stated he will always sell out to get money for med school

If you honestly believe any community of reasonable size can succeed in not doing anything that SRS can critize, you either (a) don't know SRS, or (b) are an absolute idiot. The number of active professional SC2 players is about what, 150, if that? If 150-200 alleged professionals can't keep themselves from saying or typing dumb shit where thousands of people can read/hear it, that's pretty sad. Just because the world is mean and unfair doesnt mean you should shut up and accept all the unfair things that happen, you should speak up if you think theres something wrong and that is one of the reasons freedom of speech is so awesome. There's a difference between speaking up and disagreeing and calling people "butt-hurt pussies" and being as much of an asshole as the jackasses at SRS are. Oh I have, son. Pretty obvious you haven't. Ironic words coming from someone trying to take the moral high ground. I don't think you understand what is and what is not irony. You're wrong and immature and an asshole; that doesn't mean I claim the moral high ground. It means you're wrong and immature and an asshole. And even if I was, that still wouldn't be ironic. Like I said; this behavior is completely natural and healthy for a young male. Yes, locker room talk is completely natural and healthy for a young male. In the locker room. You are the one who seems to have a problem accepting reality. Nope, just you. Adult men joking about abusing a 14 year old, whatever the context and meaning, is not acceptable in public. Like, say, on an internet stream hundreds or thousands of people are watching. Those mean old unfair fogey adults with their ridiculous notions of what is socially acceptable and what isn't are in charge, and you can rage about it all you want. Not going to change, nor should it.

Indeed. And we should all use that freedom in unity, so that people who do not share our views or values get punished for using that freedom and expressing their views! Just as we have done countless times before, here in this bastion of freedom!

To Stephano: You knew you were at the top and represented the world of E-Sports. As soon as you come into money you start acting like a crazy man and say stupid shit that completely ruins OUR image.. not just yours. This is a huge setback for EG and E-Sports as a whole. Since EG will definitely keep you, I hope they get you some professional help.

Stephano is a representative for EG since he is on their team and by that also their sponsers. If it didn't go out nobody would care since nobody knew. It is his own fault for not making sure it was a private conversation.

Anyone that studied English knows that any sort of translation (hell, in any language) cannot be translated perfectly by a web translator. There will always be grammatical or word usage errors. Also, the use of the word "abuse" in that context in the French culture = RAPE. Stop commenting on things you know nothing about, fanboy.

Do you see MC making rape jokes? No. Does he have a hilarious and boastful personality? Yes. Just as a PSA to people making this claim, or argument, or exaggeration, whatever you want to call it: Players can express their personality in public settings and make the sport relatable without crass rape jokes. Stop confusing the idea of having a filter in public discourse for some kind of draconian program to turn everyone into a robot.

This is absolutely false. I'll numerate my points for you. 1. Not acceptable according to whom? Who has that authority. You do realize you just advocated censoring the internet? Those mean old unfair fogey adults with their ridiculous notions of what is socially acceptable and what isn't are in charge, and you can rage about it all you want. Not going to change, nor should it. It should, and they're not. Not on the internet.

Acting like a crazy man and saying stupid shit is literally all Stephano has done besides slaying mad nerds. No one was bothered by it because he wasn't on EG. Now he is. And you're all butt hurt. Why do people panic about these things?

I doubt it's anything else then bragging, probably spiced up the story by saying she's a minor. If he really raped anyone I don't think he'd tell Bling about it...

Granted Stephano doesn't have the best grasp of the English language, so he may have been trying to express something else, but this looks to be the most compelling interpretation. Even if he meant the English meaning of "abuse," abusing a 14yo is also reprehensible, whether the nature of it was sexual or not.

Did Stephano really rape a 14 year old? No, the only plausible scenario if this really did happen is if the girl lied her age. Was this a bad joke? Yes Does the fact that this was a private conversation an excuse? No. Players like Stephano are always in the spot light, and always must be aware of what they say. There have been plenty of other cases, some of which include Stephano which already highlight how important this is. Is Stephano's age a factor? Yes. Under 21 is very young and it is a time to learn from your mistakes. Most of the people who do not see the inappropriateness of his actions will more than likely also fall into this same age category. Did Stephano write the letter of apology? Unlikely, and if it was, it was "fluffed up" by an EG PR representative. Will Stephano participate in GSL Code S Season 5 2012? Unlikely. He will use this grace period to train in Korea and come back for the November tournaments. Is he running away from Code S? Yes. As long as he keeps avoiding Code S, he will always have a horde of fan boys who do not follow the Korean scene. This is a cunning act of self-marketing.
