Come on, this is elementary logic, there is literally nothing to argue about here. I honestly think there most be some mistake, because you cant possible be arguing that I have to change my opinion about something (in this case that he deserved this punishment, though youre putting words in my mouth here) simply because a less than ideal situation allowed for it to occurr? I can still think the outcome was good in this particular case without having to like reddit, and there is nothing whatsoever that is incompatible between the two. Which, again, is a very good thing indeed. It would not exactly be ideal if people had to stop liking good things or good outcomes just because bad people sometimes do them or enable them. But just to make it crystal clear, a person may very well hold both of the following without there being any form of cognitive dissonance: Exploitation of power by reddit = bad. The second part is the idea that reddit has some general ability to do whatever they want with the sc2 community just because they have the particular ability of holding a person who makes jokes about abusing children responsible for what they say. Personally, I have no respect for a person who makes jokes about killing jews in order to ease boredom, asians having small dicks and about sexually abusing kids. sure there's people like that. The opposite is the reason companies sponsor people in the first place, so the thought shouldn't be far fetched yet you're not asking "are you really buying a razer mouse just because your fav. pro uses one?".
Not everyone does that but apparently a bunch of people do it + marketing value. If it wouldn't be that way we wouldn't have sponsored people to begin with.

How is this a 134 page thing? If you were in an office and made a joke about banging a 14 year old, the Human Resources Office would be having a word with you by the end of the day. Stephano got suspended for making a distasteful joke in full view of the community. EG had a discussion with him.
It's not even like EG is policing what he says in private. If he had made this joke to Demuslim during their nightly spooning session (Demuslim big spoon, obviously), EG wouldn't care. This just reinforces the idea that there are two different worlds - public and private. Stephano made that joke in the wrong world, and got punished. Everyone else on this planet would have been treated the same way.

While I personally do none of these things, if this wasn't the case with a large number of people then this would not be an issue. However this is the case, if anything it's a lesson that famous people should be very careful with what they say as it can be misconstrued by moronic people with a poor sense of humor and send teams/sponsors scrambling to reel in their players.
