Even still a staggered ("episodic") release because they couldn't get it ready in time for Blizzcon where the "big conspiracy" led. :D
Pretty much my thought. It is sad how little Alejos has interacted and kept up to date with his kickstarter backers who gave him this oppurtunity.
Sons of Starcraft will debut as episodic content over the next four weeks, Jeff and his team are hard at work making the finishing touches. Next year the movie will be available as a feature length movie to backers of the Kickstarter project and on Netflix.
Now that's just a kick in the nuts. Support something on the ground level, wait years after delays only for the thing to be released for free (pretty much as everyone at least knows someone with a Netflix account) to the public. It would be interesting to see the numbers behind the deal to see how much they think they will be making from this Netflix deal compared to releasing it on their own as a digital download.
Or perhaps they felt the backlash was so large from the complete lack of professionalism throughout the entire project that fewer people would be willing to pay for it. That could give some credence to the release on Netflix and Ongamers and essentially giving it away.

I thought this is supposed to be a good news, meaning more people (just anyone who has netflix) will get to see something about the esport scene and two of our greatest personalities in the scene

If this isn't a sick (city) documentary, there's gonna be a lot of angry nerds (there will probably be angry nerds regardless)

Overall for the scene I think it will be good as you said, as more people will have access to it.
I was more thinking about the people who initially backed the project on kickstarter and this being a kick in the nuts to them. There are over 100 people who only backed the video option, so for them they essentially gave $20 to get a download of the video that will be available on Netflix at roughly the same time.
So for donating $20 over 2 years ago, you are essentially getting the same product as someone who gave nothing. Which would be one thing if Alejos was active during the production with his backers to make them feel like they were getting something out of the experience of making the documentary, but we all have seen the lack of communication coming from Alejos regarding this project so any added value from donating was not there.
It will be interesting to see how they handle their backers in the coming weeks. I hope they serve them with their rewards before the thing is released on Netflix to reward them for their patience over these past couple years. Given how big of a shitshow this has been though, I would not be one bit surprised if the rewards aren't all sent out until next fall sometime.

Come on, stop feeding Anti-US activists

Thank you Richard Lewis to make this happen,
Also as Netflix is not accessible in most EU countries ...

153 backers
You get all of the above and a full movie download.
Yet to see details on this, but i imagine they'll have to give the download option somewhere.

Does anyone know what time this will air today and what the link is? There isn't any detail on OnGamers regarding the time.

I'm a backer and haven't got any information regarding that. What's been posted previously is the only stuff available I believe.

There is nothing for people to be upset about. Kickstarter isn't a store, it's a source of funding and the backers are getting exactly what they paid for. There is no reason for the filmmakers to give them more than a quality download of the film and a thank you.
If there was no download available aside from watching on Netflix then there would be a big problem. I am assuming that isn't the case.

I agree, if the download was not concurrent with Netflix then it would be an insult, but so far they're saying it'll be a concurrent release.
The fact that they're going to slip the 2nd deadline (I guess the Blizzcon release date was a conspiracy after all lol) and still haven't notified any of the backers of their plans is not so trivial.
There's a blog on Kickstarter project pages to give updates for a reason, not to mention they have the email address for every backer...

Netflix? What lol. What a joke.

So is it supposed to be aired on ongamers.com today? anyone know if this is happening?

I didn't bracket and probably will neither watch but I love the drama.

Where should we go to watch this? Is being released online and then to netflix or directly to netflix?
