One thing that I think is worth noting is that "whining to the sponsors" happens nearly everywhere there is sponsorships. Where a radio personality makes a comment that offends some group of people, sponsors hear about it. There have been many famous cases. As you monetize esports and you start accepting that money from sponsors and fans alike, you end up giving them both, for better or worse, a voice in the process. It would probably be best for Destiny to pursue less risk averse sponsors and perhaps try to form his own brand and maybe even team if possible. There are definitely sponsors that exist for people who sometimes offend, I have no idea how much it overlaps with Starcraft though. | ||
