People have private conversations all the time. The difference is that we actually have the discipline to ensure that the conversation is actually private. You don't give out passwords like candy, hold content-sensitive conversations using accounts under said passwords then then go 'omg it's the girl's fault that she found out and leaked it"

You want ROOT to make the statement "Change your tampons". Really?
I cannot believe how deep the current of misogyny runs in esports. You, and this company, disgust me.
Take your feminism elsewhere, this isn't even an argument demeaning women, or are you going to tell me that chicks have never bitched about how ugly lads are with their friends? CloudNine are a smart brand who can see that people having controversial personalities in a position of publicity brings a lot of interest, and interest means money. If Destiny were a girl talking about how mashed a lad's face was, CloudNine's response would be the same.

That is what happens if you trust strangers. The woman had a good go at him, perhaps he learns from this affair but I have my doubts in that regard.
Giving all your passwords to some random people from the internet, especially reddit, the place of whiny trolls, hard to believe that such an idea would even cross the mind of an adult person.

It's extremely unfortunate that we get the privilege to read so much gender-hating on TL/SC2 communities (re: Scarlett hating).
Difference between "gender hating" and beliving that saying a comment related to one gender is equal to another so I don't see the issue. If he said "take the stick out of your ass" I would have the same reaction, he means stop bitching.

The problem is that people go to the sponsors FIRST. There's no emailing the management to see what they do about it.
It's like you got treated bad by someone at a store, but instead of asking to see the store manager, you go straight to the nationwide management and try to get everybody working at every store under that name to get a paycut.
Emailing ROOT's sponsors because of Destiny hurts every single person on ROOT, players and management, because people won't want to sponsor ROOT anymore. You're attacking the entire team instead of the one guy. Hell, Destiny's money comes from streaming. You probably hurt everyone on ROOT EXCEPT Destiny. Good job.
Go to the fucking team management before you go to the sponsors. Follow the chain of command. If management don't do anything, THEN go to the sponsors, because then you DO have a problem with more than one guy on the team.

Because it helps remove disruptive elements. It helps show that the e-sports community polices its own. It helps show that the e-sports community does not tolerate this crap.If you believe Destiny's behavior is inappropriate, then e-mailing his sponsors is the right move. Why? Because it helps ensure that the problem will be dealt with. Sponsors are neutral parties; they only want money, not drama. Sponsors are the ones who have more power and don't care about the individuals involved. Of managers and sponsors, managers are more likely to gloss over the problem person. They're less likely to take sharp, corrective action. Or, to put it another way, if they'd e-mailed the managers, do you think Destiny would be getting thrown out of ROOT? Probably not. And if you think his behavior was inappropriate and that he deserved his ousting, then contacting the sponsors was absolutely the right call. It brought the pressure necessary to ensure that the problem was dealt with. And it helps ensure that Destiny is less likely to be picked up by another team.
See above. YOU ARE IGNORING THE CORRECT CHAIN OF COMMAND. Go the the Management, who have the power to discriminate and punish appropriately.
Going to the sponsors does 2 things. It makes the sponsors put pressure on the management, and it makes the sponsors want to gtfo of the SC2 scene. You can do one of those yourself, and doing the second is just fucking stupid.
IF you do that, and IF the management take no action, THEN you go messaging sponsors. You don't fucking assume that the management will take no action, and message the sponsors. Because the message you send those sponsors is that the management ALREADY TOOK NO ACTION OVER IT. You are skipping a step that everybody involved will assume happened, and you give the wrong impression to sponsors.
Don't fucking assume that the management are incompetent and are going to back the players for anything. Pressure management first, THEN message sponsors if nothing is done. Don't damage an entire team because of one guy on it.

That is woman-hating. The statement implies that women are more sensitive to insult and that being a woman (or at least having a period) is a sign of weakness. He didn't deserve what she did, which is not to say he didn't have something coming. Payback was just way too intense.
Also, you people care too much about what he says, you give importance to his opinions. I got discriminated against for a while because I was a minority in my neighboorhood; didn't bother me much as long as they just kept talking and didn't get physical.
Destiny didn't leak the pics to the Internet, he shared them with friends. It's not something I'd encourage, but she deserves punishment for her actions, which she confesses willingly, showing no remorse.
However, it was a good decision for the team. Gj to the ones responsible for the call.

If you read that conversation he had, it sounds like middle-schoolers. He's clearly a high-IQ type of guy, but it's like he's never grown up and became a man... and proud of it b/c he confuses his immaturity with honesty/being true to oneself/some other positive character trait. (others feed off that logic too)
I never cared for the guy and frankly am not surprised at this. Any professional organization should stay away from him in the future as he is the equivalent of an 11 year old's mind equipped w/ more lifetime experience, and will only continue to bring trouble with him in the future the way he always has in the past.

All of my chick friends love dick pics. And the more comfortable girls get with being sexual, the more open they are about wanting them. ('more comfortable' often relates to age).
It could also just be the type of person! The characters from Sex and the City represent a large amount of women in our society who are successful, comfortable and sexual - most of my friends resemble these characteristics (male/female/straight/gay). I'm not saying everyone is like that (or should be like that), but it's certainly not so preposterous an idea that a you have to wonder what kind of chick clamors for dick pics. Many kinds of normal chick wants them. Just like many kinds of normal guys want nude pics.
It's crazy, I know.

Go to the fucking team management before you go to the sponsors. Follow the chain of command. If management don't do anything, THEN go to the sponsors, because then you DO have a problem with more than one guy on the team. And why in the fuck is the girl that locked a guy out of his own email and went through all his personal files being ignored? How the hell is massive invasion of personal privacy ok? Emailing sponsors helps NO ONE. I've seen this several places now in this thread. And I still don't understand it. E-mailing sponsors absolutely does helps e-sports. How?
Fuck. That. You really think people should follow a chain a command on this guy, the millionth time he has done something like this?
Frankly if he gets picked up by another team I think his sponsors should be immediately email and linked to all the bullshit the second he gets signed. This is a situation of the culture around professional gaming needing to change.

when a chick gives u her naked pic, its under the assumption that u dont share it was ANYONE. i understand that it is pretty common/understandable for guys to end up sharing it with 1 or 2 of their friends which is okay ... if ur not caught. just like cheating, u know its a bad thing to do but its so common and not a huge deal if ur not caught. but get caught and ur fucked and so destiny got fucked. cant believe some ppl are saying the girl overreacted. goes to show that some sc2 players just have 0 social skills which is fine but dont go showing it off to everyone that u dont.
What so showing naked pictures of him to 40k+ instantly, then the entirety of the internet is a fair trade for him reluctantly showing 2 of his friends? Thats not getting fucked like you do at high school pal, thats hugely damaging to his life.
