He regularly referred to the players he was casting as "scrubs" and constantly said things like "That attack was just bad" or "He's playing poorly." etc. Whether or not that's the case, that's not how you cast, and Moletrap, frankly, doesn't know jack shit about the game. Further, you don't ever insult the players. If you are Artosis and are one of the most knowledgeable people with regards to the game there is, you can get away with pointing out bad play when it happens, and even he doesn't do it all that often, and certainly doesn't couch it in such negative terms. He never calls players scrubs either. I will try watching OSL because I really like Grubby, but there's a super high chance I'll get angry and turn it off because of Moletrap. He's irritating and constantly talks over whoever he is casting with, he completely ignores what his partner says on a regular basis (it's not unusual at all for him to repeat what his co-caster just said a minute ago), and rather than accept constructive criticism when provided like all of the other casters do, he just laughs at people and trolls them. | ||

Also, "playing poorly" is a valid statement in a cast. | ||

Also, "playing poorly" is a valid statement in a cast. He did in his GSL casts, several times. Also, I edited the post above to add number of reasons. Playing poorly is a valid statement if you actually know what the fuck you are talking about, Moletrap has no clue. He has no idea of the difference between actually playing poorly, and simply looking like you're playing poorly because your opponent is executing one of those builds. It's not unusual for top tier Korean players to look like garbage against MC for example, because his style just makes the games look that way, even if they aren't playing badly at all. Like I said, Artosis can get away with those comments, because he's generally right when he says it. Moletrap has no idea whether he's right or wrong and is just spouting nonsense. If you're not absolutely certain you're right when you make a negative comment about a player, you'd better damn well refrain. | ||

It's not over the top he's just a bad caster this has been established since his casting in the GSL and continues to prove true. He has not gotten better he has gotten worse it's fairly obvious. I'm also surprised OGN even hired Moletrap when he's covering LoL, someone who hasn't casted Starcraft in a long time should not cast it, whether the person is doing analyticall or play by play commentary. | ||

However there are very few casters who are genuinely good on screen and have good knowledge, even fewer who are willing to halt their lives and go live in Korea. On top of that the good ones can probably make more from 2 MLG's and a Dreamhack than a seasons worth of OSL. I personally can't watch moletrap casts, I'll make an exception if grubbys there though, but the korean stream usually works after a few prods. (wish they could arrange some remote casting with sayle though, kids casts have been good press for them) | ||
