Let's use a real sports analogy.

This is basically like the Miami Heat telling LeBron James he can't play on the national team.

I think all the players who were dissatisfied with the lifestyle of their KeSPA team already left in 2010-11 to try their hands at GSL qualifiers. Besides that, they have responsibilities to train, and specifically to be practice partners for the better players of the team.

I don't think that's necessary true. They might be wary of whether SC2 is going to succeed or not, and therefore unwilling to make a leap of faith. Now, which foreign team has lots of money once some of these contracts expire?

KeSPA players will be presented at SC2 Proleague, OSL, WCG Korean representative qualifiers, WCS and MLG online matches, MLG final invitational. Their regular week schedule will be 4 days for Proleague, 2 days for OSL, 2days for MLG cross matches.

Would they be able to play in GOM without the MLG stuff? I dont think online matches should ever get priority over GSL.

Problem is that KeSPA has a deal with MLG and playing online crossmatches might be a large part of that deal.

Ridiculous excuse. Allowing them to participate doesn't force them to. So why not just let the players that have time participate? The ones who don't play in wcs and osl?

Honestly though, I can't see how some of the sponsers can sit quietly on this, while LG is sending a bunch of their own guys to MLG. Sure they aren't sending all their big guns, which is reasonable, but they are still sending people over to give them exposure.

I guess attending GSL is a problem if they're already booked for eight days a week :/

Well, the Federation decided to keep the GSL players, Nestea, MVP, MC, Parting, San, DRG, and MKP, from playing in the OSL until Kespa stop being greedy assholes to fuck over esports.

short translation: This was an unfortunate turn of event, especially considering it has only been 4 months since the agreement we have made back in may. Looking back at what happened during gomtv classic, we are worried that this is something that could happen all over again well in to the future. Under the agreement of all ESF teams and players who are attending OSL(nestea, mvp, mc, drg, mkp, parting, san), we have agreed to boycott OSL.

Reason stated are scattered all over the announcement but it's mostly because they are worried that GSL might be squeezed out and that might be the end of ESF as well.

good for them.

Or like the Fifa only sending only under-23 national teams to Olympia to protect their own tournaments. O wait they exactly do that.
Players in most sports are not free to partizipate where they want the clubs decide that.

It's in Korean, basically theyre calling bullshit on Kespa's claims. No surprise there. It's understandable.

Not surprising. The federation teams do not want to give too much power to KeSPA.

I think it will proceed, just without as much viewership.

MC is on SK so not part of the federation.

It's not, but the article stated MC was in agreement with everyone else to not play along. It wouldn't make sense for MC to go by himself when he knows how Kespa is first hand.
