Stephano leaving Millenium, [possibly] to EG - Page 54

Think before you post. This should go without saying, there are so many people making absolutely idiotic comments in this thread. If you have nothing constructive to say, please don't say anything.

EG is all about chilling out and smoking weed in a big summerhouse in Florida or wherever it is. Of course im jealous of Stephano, i'd love to sit in a LAN all day playing whenever I wanted, swimming in the pool whenever I wanted and trashtalking the other fatsos in my clan for drinking disgusting acid aka Monster all day while getting payed. Its a superstar life that no one can blame Stephano for choosing. so mutch hate?! why? i really thought people on tl were smarter this is just bashing ... terrible

probably earn the maximum amount of money he can earn as a professional gamer. If he joins EG, he would have made the smartest move he can make. Also, to all those people who say he just going for the money and that his decision is wrong because EG is bad in your opinion. What would you do, if you know that you only do for another pro gaming for 1-3 years and somebody offers you a huge contract? Most people would accept the contract because it´s smart. It´s not an idealistic decision where you say, it´s EG, I won´t join them because they suck. No, most people choose the money because, after all you need the money for your future.(Like going to college after gaming, buying a house, ..., Whatever you want to do after pro gaming) After your gaming career, who cares on which team you were? You need the money because no one out there pays your bills, you need to do it and if you can´t you have a problem.

It just so happens that the sc2 communty value personalities more than they do results, otherwise MVP would be the most popular player, but hes not... SO maybe people should stop looking at EG for having something wrong with them and instead focus on the community. In no other esport that I know of besides sc2 do people like destiny get huge stream numbers. SC2 scene loves drama and personalities and EG caters to that. Start blaming the community, not the most well-run team there is. this is not specific to the sc2 scene. its pretty normal across all sports and entertainment. But sports stars are media trained and know how to build personas and such. People watch Destiny for entertainment and because they find him funny.

I dunno, in the cs scene which preceded the sc2 scene in both america and europe, bad players were laughed at and never taken seriously....ever. They are still running jokes to this day.

Its kind of bad for Machine and the other less-than-successful or visible EG guys (lzgamer I guess) because they dont have the personality thing incontrol and idra will fall back onto. And its good for stephano, he doesnt like to work that hard and he gets to live in a very nice house in Arizona or whatever. Instantly is the best player on the team. And lets face it, the personality he projects while playing fits with the EG brand. The only one better at appearing as an evil genius is idra.

Even in his recent trip to Korea, which was purportedly to practice hard for the upcoming MLG event, he played way more than usual for about three days (8+ hours) but then he started playing every other day and now hasn't played at all apparently in several days. Despite his general lack of practice, he is still at this moment, given DRG's recent collapse, curious's and symbol's inconsistency and life's lack of results (which will change soon), arguably the best zerg on the planet. This is all to say, it seems extremely unlikely that a move to EG will impact his level of play since he already practices so little as it is. He could practice solely only on the NA server and it probably would not affect his overall level of gameplay significantly. In fact, EG, because it wants Stephano to stream, will probably have a positive impact on his overall play since he'll be forced to stream more regularly (and thus practice more) than he does now. Also if his salary is higher than it is at present this will give him more freedom not to not enter a million online tournaments and perhaps go to Korea for an extended stay and a run at the GSL. Stephano left Korea 3 days ago and came back in France yesterday ( see his twitter ), he will probably fly tomorrow towards MLG, so yeah, he will not have practice for nearly a week just before this MLG. And about the EG curse, we'll see, Stephano stated several times that he wants to be the best player in the world since his victory in NASL3 and i want to believe him on that statement (not that he will be the best but that he will really try and stop being lazy).
