Think before you post. This should go without saying, there are so many people making absolutely idiotic comments in this thread. If you have nothing constructive to say, please don't say anything. |

Good luck man, you deserve it.
I hear its more like +15k$ per month.

EG HAD CRAPPY TRAINING PARNTERS. But since they buddied up with SLayers I think most of the players practicing in Korea have improved tremendously. Case and point JYPvT.
Anyone who stays in America is just bound the suck. That goes for all teams. Quantic, EG, Complexity. Whatever. The level of play is just substantially higher in KR and Europe. it's not that EG sucks. Americans (both north and south) havent reached the same level as their foreign peers.

However I would say that Huk seems to have returned to Liquid in all ways but in name.
But he didn't get much worse when he joined EG. It took a while until he did. He won an MLG and then got 5th and 3rd in the ones after that. THEN he hit his major slump. Given all that time it seems to be completely unrelated.

Now it's that the curse doesn't start right away...in that case I trust you're just as vocal about the liquid curse. In b4 "but Taeja!!1!" Idra was once the best foreign zerg and had some of the best zvt in the world, where is he at now? Puma was once touted as once of the most promising terrans in the world with the best tvp, where is he at now? JYP was once touted as one of the best protoss in the world with the best PvZ in the world, where is he at now? HuK was once a code S player and in the shortlist for best foreigner, where is he at now? Of course the EG curse is mostly a joke, but don't try to act as if it's not based on actual observations. So you wan't the EG curse to mean a literal curse? as if by just signing a contract with EG magically made you suck at starcraft? of course it's not going to be like that, if EG has any effect on the quality of their players, whether positive or negative, it would OBVIOUSLY take some time to be noticeable. Rather than trying to shut down the EG curse theory (which I remind you it's a joke and not real) try to find examples of players improving under the EG roof. You pulling in the example of IdrA is just more of the melding I was talking about. IdrA was on the team for 1.5 years before the slump started. Such radically different amounts of time before those 4 players supposedly started slumping would make it hard to assume that there's one single force affecting all of those players. It just wouldn't make sense that idra's mindset and practice regimen would only start to be affected by EG after 1.5 years. So that's just one example. But considering how you contradict yourself by saying that the idea of a curse is a joke in the first but I still need to look for counterexamples if I want to disprove it, I'm not sure how to respond to you.
Uh try to understand what I'm saying, obviously there's not a curse, curses aren't real, don't try to disprove the curse arguing about how curse dynamics work. Again, it's a joke based on the observation that players under EG don't get better. It could be explained in a number of reasons, some of them not placeing any blame on EG; maybe it's just that EG has the bad luck of buying players that are at their peak, for instance.

Rather than trying to shut down the EG curse theory (which I remind you it's a joke and not real) try to find examples of players improving under the EG roof. Idra was with EG before his results started going downhill. He was with them during his Ro8 runs in GSL. Puma was picked up after his NASL win which was impressive but not like the most ridiculous thing ever. They just remember him being really good because he beat MC 4-3. Before that he only had GSTL appearances (still hasn't made a GSL) and his only tournament wins were immediately following NASL at 3 European tournaments with 5 or less Koreans in each. RoG Winter 2012 is the only one that is really impressive. This is more the hype train than him seriously being a top level Korean. Jyp - Same thing. He couldn't get out of Code A before joining EG then he reached Code S once before falling right back into Code A in the Ro32. Again he also wasn't one of the best Tosses in the world considering he couldn't win a PvT to save his life in GSL. HuK is the only one who really has a case for an EG curse and that is better explained by him leaving the oGs house for the EG-Slayers house than any stupid curse. When you aren't fluent in Korean its a lot harder to get into a new practice regimen when you have an all new team that you aren't great at communicating with. On topic: Good for Stephano. Hopefully this means we can see him in the GSL soon.
I agree it's something based on perception, I've even said so myself. Re read the statements about players I made. They are mostly factual, as in, I'm not actually stating that JYP was one of the best protoss. and i even said obviously the EG curse isn't real. You do understand that curses of any kind aren't real, do you?

Wait i was just thinking of something! What if Stephano joins EC with Scarlett and the co? That'd be amazing and their lineup would be even more insane. Or wait isn't Scarlett any longer in EC? did i miss something?

Huk had the luxury of living in the OGS house with...... THE BEST TOSS IN THE WORLD. Huk's metagame knowledge was at the highest levels during that time. Since then he has fallen behind. He just naturally isnt that good at the game. I doubt Huk will ever reach the heights he was once at, and that has nothing to do with EG.
