The line up looks something like this

- Michael Jordan
- Bob
- Frank
- Mark
- John
- John

I hope it works out well for Sage and the team.

Yeah, no player who trained 99% on UE ever got a good result in a big tournament, and all players who trained mostly in Korea had awesome results and incredible skill increase.

Nerchio/Stephano/Mana/Thorzhain.

Idra/TLO/HuK/ToD.

You might be right though, it's just your link between "playing on EU" and "skill decrease" which is irrevelant.

only one of those eight players is good. Whats your point?

Saying that Sage's skill will decrease BECAUSE he'll play on EU ladder has no sens. This is my point. Quoted players are my exemples.

well hes gonna disappear from [insert Korean leagues] and probably get pass 2 rounds in MLG open bracket
thats the case for most mediocre Koreans who bail out of Korean scene.

What does it change? If he's mediocre and stays in Korea, he will be...mediocre. Unless you know a mediocre korean player who won a GSL just because he wisely stays involved in the korean scene.

What the ...? I don't get your point bro.

Okay I'll try, but it wasn't supposed to be funny anyway. It just makes me sad when a talented player like Sage who knows NOTHING about Europe and its scene joins a random unestablished European team whose players are third-rate at best (compared to Sage's level), just to follow the shallow wish of going "overseas, playing in overcrowded tournaments". The article implies that alt-tab is only able to send him to European tournaments, that means he won't be able to go MLGs or other events outside of Europe.
The worst thing of all is that they have him come to Europe so he can't even practice with other Koreans, so all he can do is practice on the subpar EU Ladder or beg for high-caliber practice partners from other teams.

tl;dr: This is bad for Sage.

Hey, he knows Morrow, Jinro and Stephano.^^ Probably Naniwa, too. And most of the tournaments are in Europe anyway. I don't think it's a bad move per se.

Golden and Sleep did pretty well when they moved to the US, viOlet even more so. And Sage at his best is better than Golden or Sleep in my opinion. It's a chance to get a lot more recognition than he could ever achieve while being stuck in Code B in Korea.

On the other hand, adapting to the culture and being the lone Korean in Warsaw won't be easy. I hope Alt-Tab know what they're doing and help him a LOT!

Be fair, he's a grown man and a smart one. He wouldn't join this team unless he had confidence in what they offered him. His goals in starcraft right now are to play in big tournaments, in front of passionate fans - is that really shallow? His career was stagnating majorly in Korea, the only thing he has is the GSL which he's dishearteningly failed to qualify for for multiple seasons, and the team league, where he didn't get too much run anyway for whatever reason. I love NSH but they're not in a position to be flying their players around the world to compete.

Whether or not this will be a good or bad move in terms of skill is remain to be seen. Sure, Korea is notoriously 'the' place to be to improve, but you can't underestimate the negative impact that things such as flailing passion or boredom with the game can have on someone. That's why he wants to move - new challenges, new goals, and an invigorated mindset. There's every chance his move to Europe will help his career flourish, Korea isn't the be all and end all of professional starcraft.

Of course, he is, and it's his decision, but that doesn't necessarily make it a good one. Where would this confidence you speak of come from though? Sage is a Korean who most likely hasn't left Korea since he was born (like most other Korean progamer that aren't Boxer & Co). I think he was just looking for any team that would enable him to "go overseas", and the first best (by his judging) was alt-tab.

You are right though, he will have more opportunities in Europe than he would have if he remained in Korea. But his skill WILL stagnate, but I guess it's worth as long as he is happy and able to fulfill his dream of playing in front of big crowds of passionate fans.
