Don't wanna sound like a Naniwa fanboy, but alot of code b players that are better? Sound like you just don't like the guy. He has gotten to ro8 twice now...
Naniwa receiver GSL bailout seeds 5 or 6 times, iirc. If any code B player had received that many free seeds, he would've won a GSL title already.
So any player who has been in the GSL Code A/S five or six times has won a GSL title?
Even the Koreans admit Naniwa is really good so maybe it's time to stop referencing the age old Code A record.
How many times did he lose in Code A? 3? Maybe if he gets a 3rd ro8 in a row next season they'll seed him directly in the semifinals.
I don't get it. People can say what they want but Ro8 twice in a row is pretty indisputable proof that he's Code S level. The fact that he lost a few times in Code A ages and ages ago is of no relevance to that fact.
SC2 is pretty random. Any code B can beat any code A or S and vise versa. It's just a matter of whoever receives the most opportunities and free seeds. No players on Earth got seeded into tournametns more than Naniwa, Idra, Huk and Stephano. Once you've reached a level, you can beat anyone on any given day with SC2. Getting hyped up and bailout seeds are what makes the difference.

I will take this bet anyday of the week!
BW teams hold a higher standard for their players. They won't go near a player like Naniwa.
He's arguably the best foreigner, and currently 8th best in the world. That's pretty high standards.
by Standards I didn't mean playing results. I meant personality wise. Kespa teams are not going to want a whiny BM team hopper with a bad reputation. 0% chance a Kespa team touches him. Also he is not 8th best in the world -.- yes he has proven he is a solid player by staying in Code S, but he is not top 8 in the world....
So you have another metric but wins in the global starcraft league? You have a "good-o-meter" at home with your own top list? He's ro8 GSL so he's top 8. It's such a pity SC2 is such a young sport that being bad at the game but good at doing interviews make teams more likely to pick you up than a player that's sick good at the game but bad at interviews.
Are you stupid? GSL is a great tournament and you have to be good to compete in it, but it is NOT a ranking of player skill. There are players in Code B who are better than some players in Code S. It is just a single tournament. Do you know what variance is? Just because you are incapable of judging player skill on their actual in game performance and have to take the lazy/stupid way out by just looking at their results doesn't mean its the only metric, let alone the best one.

Ugh please no! MC is the only Protoss SK needs right now! They should pick up a Terran or Zerg to practice with MC though..
lol @ how many times you've posted in this thread telling us what we should think about Naniwa. 0% chance he'll go to a Korean team? What gives you the idea that if Naniwa has lived in ST's house for this long there's a 0% chance they will pick him up? Not a very intelligent estimation to throw out there.
Startale was the only team that might have, and he already dismissed the idea. I also only said 0% of going to a KESPA team... huge difference. I have said that it is UNLIKELY that he will goto any other Korean team. but not a 0% chance.
My God, this is the saddest news. Hate seeing great friends go their seperate ways like this. Wish Naniwa the best really hope he will find a new home soon.
Think about it guys, why would Naniwa want to join ST (besides the fact that he already said he never would) or any korean team when they don't even get payed salaries? With quantic, he gets payed and he gets to stay in the ST house. With startale, he gets to stay in the ST house. Awesome.

I agree for the most part except the stephano part. What tournaments has he been seeded in ?

Sure, I agree, but skill is usually shown in how consistent a player is with his wins. Mvp is a good example, his win-rate is only around 65%, but since he consistently shows good results even if he loses, he's considered one of (if not the) best player in the world.
Naniwa's problem in terms of skill is his PvZ, but his PvP and PvT are sometimes ungodly strong, which is why he's been able to post such great results in an almost completely zerg-free environment. Limitless preparations also play a big role, of course.

Someone tweeted in swedish asking Naniwa is he going to join ST and he answered not in his life time. It's in the first 10 pages.

I couldn't see how you can even think of Liquid. I'm not saying that Naniwa's personality is bad or anything but I do believe his qualities do not fit in with Liquid in any aspect.

The RAKAKA article states the Quantic weren't able to send him to events due to financial constraints and that him and SaSe weren't getting a long that well any longer.
