You cant count it like that when it's group play, Nerchio won the group, so he is still world champion, Nerchio still winner, and Demuslim is a loser, he cant get world champion by losing, even though it's unofficial and this odd concept, I think in groupplay it should only count if you place higher in the group - because calling demuslim world champ because of the performance here, imo is quite lame :S

That is the entire point of this thing. It's not a measurement of who is currently the best player, it's just a system of who beats who. And Demu beat Inori, who at that point was the current Champion.

That is what I was telling, Demuslim didn't actually beat Nerchio, because in groupplay it's not a battle of who beats who, but who wins the group. So if forgg won the group imo, even if Nerchio beat him, he should be new world champ. That makes way more sense in comparrison.

taken from UFWC
Due to the nature of group stages, a team may win or retain the UFWC without qualifying for the knock-out stages of a competition. However, if an UFWC-holding side reaches a knock-out stage, the eventual tournament champions are guaranteed to also be Unofficial World Champions.
[...]
Chile in 1950, Mexico in 1962 and Colombia in 1994 were eliminated in the group stage but left the World Cup as unofficial world champions.

Demuslim is the unofficial world Champion

Going by pro wrestling rules I see. DEMUSLIM is still the World Champion because he didn't get "pinned" in the "Fatal 4-way". lol

Pretty awesome idea OP. Keep it up!

In Groupplay it isn't about who beat who, but in THIS unofficial World Championship it is. It's about the 1v1 between Champion and Contender. You would have to go through the whole list of Champions, because I'm sure this hasn't happened the first time.

Using your logic, Nerchio prolly wouldn't have been Champion in the first place.

Would it make sense to filter the championships to only those that lasted for longer than a day or two, or a week? The way it is set up, someone can hold the title for like 20 minutes (especially in team league games) before having it taken away from them. It just clogs up the list that is getting too long and unreadable as it is.

As for the above discussion, clearly Demuslim is the champion by the current rules. Tournament format has no relevance to this kind of ranking.

Edit: may have been asked already but... why isn't Morrow the first champion?

It all was planned by Demu to retain the world title for himself for a couple of weeks!!

makes it more fun this way. and why morrow isn't first? It was kind of arbitrary when it was made up. came from an LR thread, people were working while watching games, etc.

They need to make some WWF style belt to be traded when the "world champion" looses his title :p
