Although I do agree with most of what you're saying, Thorzain by no means had a disappointing showing in code S. In fact he just might be headed back there as he has JYPvT followed by a TvT. He had what one day or so to prepare (as he had been traveling) and he still went 3rd in his group

He did alright but he still didn't make it out of his group.

So did half of code S

And they didn't do well either, what's your point?

Remember this: Koreans always cheese foreigners who go to GSL the first time. Be ready.

Awesome, I hope he is able to improve a lot, though I feel like it'd be better for him to stay in one of the team houses. Ah well chae will arrange a nice code a/s seed for him anyways

Oh yeah I forgot how much worse QXC, thorzain, naniwa, huk, sase and fenix got in Korea.

Generally speaking he is wrong and most ppl who have been to Korea got a lot better - but in one case I tend to agree with him, and that makes me especially sad because I have mad love for this guy since his Wc3 days. I am talking about ToD and hope he will get a better mindset laddering/training in Europe which seems quite crucial in his case.

But that's beside the point here

Go Mana!

Tod's always been bad in Sc2 both before and after he lived in Korea.

ToD's always been reasonably good but not enough to qualify for Code A or win a foreign tournament, yet anyways. I'd put him in the same category as Ret.

Im kind agree here , there was disscusion about it at HSC V stream. Ret is one of these players that always play good , but he dont win anything big. , i dont know its mindset.. or what . EmpireKas is another example in that category.. he is superb player , but he is not wining anything big..

Code S seed then...

Congrats and good luck! With Naniwa certain to be Code S in season 4, and Thorzain already in the Up and Downs, the foreign representation in the GSL is looking to slowly get better.

You're comparing someone who barely didn't make it out with 3 people who didn't win a set (and maybe a game I dont remember). There's a big difference between idra/sen (its not fair to even include sase as he was in code A) and their performances and thorzains

Thorzain didn't barely make it out at all. He got completely stomped by Squirtle in both bo3's and won his TvT. He didn't do awful, he didn't do well. Thorzain did better than Idra/Sen sure but if you don't make it out of your group you can't be happy.

Are you insane?

Ret's won 2 big tournaments, he's made the Ro4 of a Dreamhack and he's beaten a lot of legit players.

Tod's never placed well in anything that matters and as far as I remember never beaten anyone good on LAN either.

I don't think he is in the same category as Ret - but he has quite some potential and won something despite what you are writing.

That's a very minor tournament.

People always talk about potential with Tod, what the fuck does potential matter if after 18 months of playing the game you haven't done jack with it?

He lost to the runner up of last season. It still isn't comparable to idra/sen's performances (again sase doesn't quite belong either)

Take the KR scene with a pinch of salt, cos you might lose a lot in the start but then I'm sure you'll rock the scene! All the best

Beating Nerchio who has like always been a European heavy hitter is not "doing jack".

I know a discussion will be fruitless so let's agree to disagree and be done with it.

I wouldn't say ToD is bad, but I definitely wouldn't say he's achieved anything particularly major. He's decent and is improving.
