At the MLG Spring Championships, we are joined by Leta, SoulKey, Jaedong, Fantasy, and Stork who share their excitement over coming to the US and playing in front of the passionate Starcraft 2 fans, what aspects of practice they have focused on most, which players they look up to, and what they want their fans to know!

rofl they all look at it first and then be like shit i hope im doing this right
I find it interesting that JD in particular (first) said he wants to learn a bit of english and interact more with the global community. His English responses were cute.
Cred to Jaedong for having the balls to actually use some english, fun to see and even more fun to hear that he really wants this (Everything that comes with SC2 like travel to other countries and meeting english speaking fans) to the grade that he is ready to work on his english so he can communicate with fans and in interviews.
Actually to expand on my earlier comment, it really seems like JD is adapting best to the more more open, international stage of SC2. I mean it's hard to tell what is and isn't kinda scripted, but he seems to have the most personality of the five, and judging by photos and words passed about, the most keen on interacting with the other pros and with fans. It is a bit early to say for sure though. I think he's going to get a lot of important spectator support throughout his transition.
Great interview! Too bad Flash wasnt there to answer some questions! Anyway I enjoy the work CSN puts in, but imo they need a new personality for interviews.. Rachel has always seemed kinda fake to me t_t Regardless awesome job!

He's always been like that more than most other progamers though. Even before SC2 came out he'd always been working on his English and trying to use it for fans whenever he goes to events outside of Korea. I think it's partly to do with the fact that out of all of the foreign events that BW pros go to, like Blizzcon, WCG, etc., Jaedong gets invited/goes to almost all of them, more than anyone else. So he already has the most exposure and practice dealing with foreign fans and knows how to relate with them. It does also have to do in part with the fact that he's just like that naturally, moreso than most other progamers.
Thanks for the interview, as an SC2 fan its great to get exposure to these guys in a relaxed way. I am so impressed by their humility (yes, I know some of its cultural) I am sure that most of these guys (as I trust the quality people who have been on the forum since the BW days) will end up in the top tier. But to all the current SC2 players (NA/EU) who make a lot of noise - learn from these guys, if you're not at the top then be humble, everyone respects you then.
Jaedong is so freaking cute. Eats the mic and Fantasy always breathes in it as soon as he got it. Really good interview. You can start to see their individual personalities a little more without only seeing them inside of a sound proof box now :D
I wish I could be there to cheer for them - hope everyone there makes it as memorable as it should be - I'm thinking if they describe it as deafening I would be satisfied.
Fantasy is an MMA fan.... Somehow this does not surprise me in the least. The estranged brothers will unite to roll everything in their path. Medivacs so abundant that they block out the sun.
That was one awkward interview, Jaedong kept blinking nervously and apparently he was the only one that thought for a second about how weird they were holding the microphone, also weird was Fantasy's care not to touch Stork at all, haha.

Too bad the rest of them havent worked on their english enough to respond even with a bit of english . But atleast now they're thinking about the future and us foreigners and wanting to actually take more time to study/learn english so they can break the language barrier that some foreign broodwar pros brought up being a problem in the team houses. Really good they're actually wanting to be able to talk to everyone at some point so it easier to communicate. Never really watched Broodwar but these guys seem like good people. :D
Fantasy! :D So awesome they feel the love from international tournaments, I hope the continue to feel this way all the time! I also love how passionate they are towards us, enough to learn English for interviews and etc. ^^

Tasteless told me in 2010 that Jaedong speaks English quite well for someone who hasn't been able to study it much.

judging from his player intro tonight, his english seemed the best of the 8 there.
