In this day in age it's quite difficult to overcome the hurdle from being 'good' to becoming 'great' without at least some team support. Except for maybe in a few cases were you could argue someone was a savant. If you'd argue Destiny was a savant capable of doing it on his own, he probably would have by now. Which obviously he has been unable to do so I think you can safely say on his own he wont.

I think it's fair to say he'll probably remain as his been for a while, an outspoken individual who carries X amount of following which allows him to at least exist only playing SC2. Eventually people will probably get bored of it and he'll retire out of gaming without really having truly accomplished to much.

Which at the end of the day was his choice, he chose to speak his mind all the time regardless of who he might offend and scared off every team/sponsor he's been associated with. So long as he's happy with that so be it, his fans just need to realize that's 99.9% likely to be the case.

Seems a bit bitter...

Destiny is a strong player on a level with many others in the lower pro ranks and it is certainly possible with some dedicated practice time at MoW he could move up in his play.

Further, I'd say having a following of size X when Destiny never won any major tournament and making a decent living off of that following is something major he has accomplished in his SC2 career (brings to mind... um... Day[9]...), something many other pros have never and will never accomplish. For instance, what is it that you have accomplished Nerski? And how much of a following or income has it got you? While a fan of you and your playing I must say that it is a shame you have to come and bad mouth Destiny.

Actually, Day9 won WCG NA back in 2005 playing Starcraft: Broodwar.
I'm embarrased by my past actions and even more ashamed of my present thoughts and future endeavors to clear my name.

Naniwa I think has been slowly maturing, but I agree with you on Destiny. Dude backs up he's a trashy person everytime he opens his mouth, and he doesn't take responsibility for his actions, no major accomplishments as a pro. Why people feed into this attention whore idk, I don't go near his stream. Must have the same appeal as Jerry Springer back in the day. At least Idra is an act. /hatin'

stream is decent, plays good music and not the usual k-pop or brostep and he talks shit which can be entertaining as long as you don't take it too seriously.

The only issue I have with Destiny is that he sometimes gets on his high horse and thinks he's the only person who's ever gotten laid, had a child or a full time job.

So I presume you mean that every Day[9] fan is some BW fanboy from 2005? C'mon man. Day[9] has done nothing but cast SC2 and most of his fans probably have no idea about WCG 2005. The context of my comment was SC2.

I don't intend to play the role of "hardc0re fanboi l33t <3 Destiny's p3n1s ima BM u now," but I would consider leaving teams to be taking responsibility for your actions. Obviously he was forced to leave ROOT and I can hardly remember the Complexity situation, but he and Quantic both said that it was Destiny's choice to leave in the end. And I dunno if I would go so far to call him an "attention whore" because he only does the things he does on his stream. He doesn't BM in tournaments or anything; it's angry and offended people that bring the attention to him which brings him here to make posts. :\
I extremely, mother effin highly doubt that idra is an act, btw. I don't feel like he's been faking since BW when the scene was tiny and no one gave a shit about how anyone acted (aside from cheating and being a flaming asshole). It's also not very respectable to fake 1000 posts of balance complaints since the start of WoL and not GG in tournaments when you lose to cheese or a player you hate. lol

Once you see him in a sports car and owning a mansion, then you can say he makes "shit" a lot of money. you must have pretty low standarts.

It's "a shit ton" of money considering he earns it by letting people watch him play video games.

Music is def a big appeal. So many streamers play godawful top 40 unimaginitive chartpop. I'm shocked that people who have to be on a computer for 8-10 hours a day and are otherwise intelligent can be enough of simpletons to tolerate that kind of garbage.
Our Protoss, Who art in Aiur HongUn be Thy name; Thy stalker come, Thy will be blunk, on ladder as it is in Micro Tourny. Give us this win in our daily ladder, and forgive us our cheeses, As we forgive those who play zerg against us.

...what? I'm top 10% masters on EU while playing on average ~1 game a day since sc2 got released and meeting tons of GMs, and let me tell you this: There is little to no difference between a masters player and someone thats #30-#200 GM.
Its the ~top30(number taken out of ass on a spontaneous memory recollection of opponents faced since GM launched) that are the real beasts.

Dont forget GM is top 200 from the first 2 weeks of the season, and a lot of those are boosted accounts or mid/high-masters players on a lucky cheeserun.

Either way, someone like Destiny will make EU GM without breaking a sweat.

Considering that most Day[9] fans or Starcraft fans in general have watched his Daily#100, they would know about his accomplishments in Brood War. He also won the Pan-American Championships in 2007 over Testie at the time who was a beast from Canada. He's no joke of a player, just doesn't have as much time to play while casting major events every other weekend..

I extremely, mother effin highly doubt that idra is an act, btw. I don't feel like he's been faking since BW when the scene was tiny and no one gave a shit about how anyone acted (aside from cheating and being a flaming asshole). It's also not very respectable to fake 1000 posts of balance complaints since the start of WoL and not GG in tournaments when you lose to cheese or a player you hate. lol

I'll word it more elegantly. The dude's gettin dat Charlie Sheen money.

Hahaha, thanks for that. ^^
