You have to provide some kind of evidence/proof (screenshots/replays etc.) if you are going to accuse somebody. Additionally, a supporting comment of what people should be looking for and when will be necessary if you are posting replays/evidence.

Yes, definitely map hacking. Knows where your army and pylons are through the fog of war at all times and looks through your base several times.

I kept reading this thread thinking lightpwner sounded familiar, and I realized this kid messaged me once about joining my HSL team since we live in the same area. Him being 17 sounds about right since he told me he was in 10th grade, he seemed pretty normal back then though. He was low masters when we spoke (a few months ago) so I guess he must've lost it sometime between when I spoke to him and when he started maphacking. ![]()

Considering that is tied to his real name etc I would say he is most assuredly not the brightest. Mods: not posting 'personal info' but but it isn't exactly private info, lol.

Too low master, but I suggest you report via the in-game system and via email at hacks@blizzard to have him banned eventually ![]()

We could at least maybe try to police the GM ladder though I guess.

He also mentioned he's in the process of joining a new team and trying to decide between Habitat or NMx. Guess he was lying about quitting. Someone who knows the leader of either of these teams should probably let them know. He doesnt qualify for NMx A team and I'm sure B team wouldn't take him

Watched the replay and while he didnt scout much, not sending the overlord to the opponents side could be because he doesnt want thorzain to kill it with a barracks lift. The replay really shows nothing.

Unless Blizzard comes up with some sort of anti-hack launcher or something, the "report someone who is hacking" method is way too slow and takes way too much man-power to enforce effectively when you are talking about hundreds of thousands of gamers. We could at least maybe try to police the GM ladder though I guess. The thing is hacks will always exist. I am from a little quake 3 community back in day, and what worked for us was a BAN FOR LIFE policy, no mercy to any hacker, admins shared ips ban list, and a public list of hackers was available. your whole reputation as a player got destroyed and this was effective as a warning for everyone else. Thats why i think a subforum for reporting hackers should exist, it doenst matter if blizzard takes ages in banning them, it could help potential hackers to think twice before they risk to be banned from the comunnity for life and be on the wall of shame forever.

Can't you figure out every little thing the enemy player does by good scouting? IE Overlord speed, scans, multiple observers. You get MULES instead of scans. Its fairly easy to deny OL scout in midgame. You know whatever build your opponent is doing and can always pick the perfect counter to it.

No player no matter how strong can see everything all the time. A maphack is such a ridiculous advantage I'm having trouble believing that it needs to be explained to anybody.
