You have to provide some kind of evidence/proof (screenshots/replays etc.) if you are going to accuse somebody.
Additionally, a supporting comment of what people should be looking for and when will be necessary if you are posting replays/evidence. |

Hello all –
This is Cloaken, Community Manager for StarCraft II.
I wanted to update this thread with the following information posted to the StarCraft II forums today. I will also quote the post here as well:
...we have permanently removed several players from the game for employing hacks to the client. In addition to closing their accounts, we have also removed these players from their positions in the ladder. As we have mentioned before, we take the issue of fair-play very seriously and will actively pursue any player who attempts to circumvent skill and ability in exchange for methods designed to game the system. We also would like to thank you for your continued diligence in reporting matters like this one via the in-game system. It is because of your attentiveness that we are better able to identify these issues and deal with them as quickly as possible.

Hooray!!! Thank you Blizzard!
BTW, is this the first time a Blizzard employee posts on TL? :O
|
Cool, a blizzard post!? Could you fill us in on any attempts to prevent cheaters in the future, calling them out one by one obviously isn't the answer.

Haha, this is great. All of the hackers were put into a bronze league and given negative bonus pool. It's funny, I didn't realize WiNDOW and Vencido were hackers, because I beat both of them the other day... how can you hack and still lose...
Also, thank you Cloaken for coming here to TL to post this, it means a lot knowing you guys stay on top of this with our help
Thanks!

yea, id like to see some IP bans

I think it'd be funnier if instead of being banned they were forced into their own ladder pool solely consisting of people who have been caught hacking. But it's still great to hear that Blizz is getting rid of these people.

You made a very good point.
Btw, It's just interesting to note that the same poster of that invalid replay happens to be the same guy who defends Vencido of not hacking lol.

How do I upload it and link it into this thread? EDIT: Figured it out As lately many seem to have just posted links to replays without descriptions I will answer to this even if the poster seems already posted his replay with a description. Signup and upload the replay to some replay site such as http://drop.sc/. Add link of the replay to your report. Name who is the suspect (name and preferably link to his sc2ranks and/or bnet profiles). Please also mention in which league he plays on which server. Then describe why you think he is hacking (e.g. suspicious actions with time stamps). SOOO MUCH work @.@ Worth it even if blizzard dosn't care ? .. If you are blaming somebody for likely hacking, you better to provide good details why you think he is hacking (watch the replay yourself and make it easy for others to verify by providing details). Practical example: Your teammate was accused some time ago with incomplete proof regarding one match (some 'proof' was totally invalid: e.g. SC2 client glitch was used as 'evidence') in this thread. You were quick to come to this thread to defend your teammate and yourself. I am sure you would have appreciated that that poster would have analyzed the match better and not made accusations based on it (if there was nothing suspicious there. Did not watch that replay).

What a change in tone for someone who maintained his innocence to the bitter end.

Today is a good day for ESPORTS!
Too bad these immature children have way too much time on their hands. Oh well, more money for Blizzard. Great work Zwei and everyone that got involved

jesus christ, good riddance. I also find it funny that Depravity was constantly defending himself about the fact that he doesnt hack and there he is... in bronze league now with the rest of the hackers LOL
EDIT: Then I apologize to PandaLove for calling him out. I guess it was Depravity hacking and he was just telling you everything over skype or something.
