Glad to see you still doing the show JP. It's good to hear the storys of gamers. It's going to be really interesting to hear Naniwa's story since everyone says alot of shit about him.

Really awesome to hear Naniwa's side of things, he really puts a lot of stuff in perspective and shows a lot of class. Definitely the best episode so far, keep them up.

Real talk is so good, that's the best thing you've come up with by far, JP. Looks like all those connections you made those past few years paid off.
Real enjoyable, more like :D

Pretty interesting episode, seems pretty obvious Naniwa wants to return to dignitas, which is strange.

As I understood it, he first left Dignitas because of financial reasons, which Dignitas could not meet, thus leading to his pickup by coL.
He did well in coL and asked for a sarary raise(?) or a bonus for doing well, but got rejected, thus he left once again for financial reasons.
Now (if im reading the implications right) he wants to wait a few months for the opportunity to return to Dignitas.....which would complete the circle, but would require them to present a larger salary which was declined in the first place a year ago?

Correct?

Naniwa comes across as a really honest and down-to-earth guy. I'm glad he took the time to speak with the JP and the community because his media attention has largely been other people's thoughts/rumors/drama for the last year or so and it seemed to be getting blown out of proportion. Idra's comments about Nani "burning every bridge"/"being gone from esports soon" are certainly not fitting into the story that nani has described today, so it's nice to see the other side to those claims.

Good luck nani, hopefully you get on that dream-team and hit Ro4 next season

He never said what kind of salary he wanted, just that he had a minimum, and that he'd take the team (most likely Dignitas) as long as they fulfilled that minimum (ie, semeingly undepending on what other teams offers him). Also, afaik, he left coL more due to the fight with Jason Lake, the salary thing was simply what triggered said fight.

What did he say that gave you the feeling he wanted to go back to Dignitas? I remember him having nothing but love for their manager, but I don't recall him saying anything that made me think he was going to return to the team.

besides saying he loves the manager multiple times,"i would love to go back there someday" was a strong hint, also slasher said that dignitas was in the lead for aquiring him if it means anything to you

No Naniwa is the problem. There are plenty of foreigners that practice in Korean team houses, have you ever heard of anything like the ENTIRE TEAM ignoring the player for an entire week? One player disliking someone is one thing but ENTIRE TEAM ignoring you is another. Naniwa is the problem.

I don't think you can prove it that way. You would need to look at other foreign players who were at the MVP house to prove something.

Drewbie and trimaster stayed in the MVP house. I never heard anything from them about being ignored by the whole team. It's just Naniwa.

never heard it, must be true.

I think you're making baseless assumptions and you should stop. We only know one side of the story but we've also heard plenty of other pros going back to BW days about how difficult it can be to live in korean gaming houses.

You should stop, you're coming off as a petty kid with some sort of weird NaNiwa inner hatred.

Drewbie made a 4 20min vlogs of his time in the MVP house. He seemed pretty happy there and never mentioned being ignored or unwelcomed in the videos.

And don't compare BW training houses to Sc2 training houses. They are nothing similar in terms of training regiments.

I am not making baseless claims or have an inner hatred for naniwa. Former managers and teamates have come out and said how terrible naniwa is to deal with. Naniwa is the problem bro.

#1 Naniwa never said MVP was the problem
#2 Trimaster and Drewbie stayed there for a lot less time then naniwa (I think drewbie technically only stayed there for two weeks as he was at GOM house during the Korean hollydays)
#3 The difference between American culture and Swedish culture is probably as big as the difference between Korean and Swedish one.
#4 SaSe recently said exactly the same things as naniwa, but about the startale house as well, he said it was some cultural thing that you never mention what the other person has done wrong but you the group as a whole still gets upset at you for it. Would imply that he's the problem in this case as well?
#5 Your welcome to show us your source on how bw teamhouses differ from sc2 teamhouses.

I agree with you in all things you said, but I will dirrect you to the source you asked for:

Idra talked about it on his Real Talk about how different the Estro house is from the Slayers house (and did so in multiple interviews on the case), repeatedly stating that Slayers is much much much better and looser than Estro was.

I have to agree with this too. I remember Rotterdam constantly mentioning that the Naniwa that was portrayed and the Naniwa that he knew were completely different people, and this Real Talk really showed that difference.

Real talk is such an awesome series that puts an human face on so many players and personalities. To me for the longest time, I just saw that players as people operating the game, not as people working towards their dream. Looking forward to more Naniwa success stories.

Ah, I was listening to the interview but sort off drifting in and out of it. I must have missed that line where he said he would love to return.

At the end he says he's not looking for a team for the money, that instead he just wants a very stable place to stay, that will give him what he wants, for the rest of his career.
