I need your opinion to figure out how i should model my data for the highest levels.Right now i am using sc2ranks.com and sc2earnings.com to find my data. I need 50 different players to model to make my correlation effective.
My ideas are either showing a rank of n/a or using the highest ranked protoss for the player Mc who I cannot find on sc2ranks.com. I could just give him the highest ranked player with the ID "IIIIIIII" who is protoss to be able to show his place in my data. But if represting MC in my data means placing his rank/points as n/a it would represent that he doesn't ladder and only scrimages with his teammates and friends/worthy opponents. Also if I i just take a random protoss off the ladder with the name IIIIIII i could be creating false data, for all i know it could be Genius, or puzzle, or squirtle.
I also have a problem with players who have multiple accounts and people on different servers. One player could be rank 1 grandmasters and highest points in the world, but if he created an account on the EU or KR server he can only get 3/4 of the amount of points he had on N/A. If someone is in masters but on my list of sc2 earnings should I dock him points or list that in my Data? I know for sure that Huk has 3 accounts. (EgHuk, Depression, and Sad) These types of things involved in this game create many different variables and problems in trying to find the very best data. Should I use someones lower account? Should I average them all out? Should I take in consideration that someone only plays on the NA server or just on the EU server?
This is why I need you the TL/Starcraft 2 community to help me with this dilemna. Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advanced to all who read this or post.
Also in regards to all comments that may ask why I chose a harder topic is because i think that something can be done to get an accurate set of data to represent what I am trying to talk about when I finish this project. I didn't want something easy and boring that wouldn't interest me(like gas prices vs Co2 Emmisions). I love the sc2 Community so choosing Sc2 earnings vs sc2 points was a lot closer to my heart.
