Agree with the naniwa statement. I think he definitely has a reasonable chance to advance.
Hero looks like he can make it through as well. Taeja... hmm... his group looks extremely difficult.

from mc twitter:hey fans don't worry about my group in GSL i'm boss toss i will kill maru Squirtle OZ easy mans (... i want more easy zergs..)

I'm sure Parting is quite happy

Parting should make it out of the group but those 3 terrans are pretty dang good

oh man. MKP vs PartinG again. Should be epic

I only read the first page of comments, but it seems like there's a negative reaction to this year's RO16. For me, even as a Zerg player I'm actually looking forward to watching these games. I think this RO16 reflects who a lot of the future stars will be and I also think a lot of the best players, at this point in time, are playing Protoss.
Plus Naniwa and two Liquid players making it this far, there are a lot of things I like about this GSL.

both zergs in the same group? racial diversity has gone out the window at the GSL

Is there any way to watch the korean commentators instead of the english ones?
I'm confused.
The Gom player has the ability to switch between english and korean casters build right in.

Why does everyone think MVP will make it to the next round? Isn't his wrist hurting, he doesn't look like the same player he was before...

Wow look at group C man, all of the best up and coming players. Parting and MKP obviously are the hottest T/P right now, Teaja is a perfect all around player and STC is the coming back player since the beta.
So awesome, wish they'd have 1 Zerg like Leenock in there.

Damn, even though obvisiously everyone in the R16 is sick good, i'd ahve to say that MVP, parting and Oz have very good groups from advancing, each with there sick matchup being common (parting PvT obvisously, MVP v Z, and Oz PvP). I would be surprised if at least those 3 dont advance from there groups.
And to whoever said that Parting is a 1 match-up wonder, I disagree. Obviously his PvT is insanely good, but its not that his other match-ups are bad, they just dont look as good as his strongest. He's actually pretty good at PvP (from what games i can remember watching, has taken games off of Oz, and he beat puzzle back in the last GSL) and his PvZ just doesn't show up that much in GSL ( he lost 0-3 to drg, but he also beat drg 2-0 at MLG winter and then fell to him in the losers bracket.)

Ouch. If that's true, that is unbelievably unprofessional and if any of these people also spoke out against Naniwa they are massive hypocrites.

Maru in RO16? Didn't even remember that. Naniwa may actually have a change.

Even though he won you can clearly tell he wasn't on top of his game. Getting badly outmacroed by Ryung many times in a mirror matchup w/o many early engagements. Overall his multi-tasking is a lot slower. MKP right now would crush him with sheer micro and multitask.

Where are you getting this from? Community assumptions aren't facts.. and if you had read Parting's interview after his matches last week you'd know this is bullshit. Mr. Chae asked MKP yesterday about July saying that Prime players and the Startale players stopped greeting each other since the GSTL final. Instead of denying it, MKP said that the two teams have been on bad terms since the final. The morning after the final, Startale players supposedly had a lot of mean comments for MKP, and especially since MKP was good friends with Startale players before, this was very unsettling for him, which affected his play that day and contributed to him getting knocked out. He wants the two teams to make up behind the scenes and be on good terms again although he is fine with getting a rivalry going in matches. [Parting and Virus look uncomfortable during MKP's interview, while Squirtle gives a deathglare (?) and July has his arms crossed and head tilted as he gives his order for an assassination] MKP picking Taeja was a gesture to mend Prime and ST's relationship. He said that he himself would rather not face Taeja because he finds Taeja a difficult player to go against and he would prefer to play a protoss, but he still picked Taeja. Even Taeja himself before MKP actually picked up his name said "No, I don't like that. I don't want to be picked by MKP and I would much rather be in Group D".
Did they expect MKP to forfeit his game out of sportsmanship? Seems a bit petty to hold grudges in a competitive game.
