i have to admit, i skimmed through part 1 because i just dont like arcade games, i have this conspiracy theory that you can maybe rarely win arcade games because you will most likely get to keep playing at no extra chrage, but if you lose, you spend more money. I always thought of, what if the arcade games have a program in there that makes it hard/impossible for you to win, but says "beat level one you get a level free" <-- as an example. but rest was really good! :D

This is amazing. For me growing up in the 90's playing every major fps and rts title on lans and on the early internet this is true nostalgia. I do think that you're missing some important parts though. The Death Row vs Clan 9 game could be considered one of the most important clanwars in the history of esport as well as the start of organized play in Sweden, which through quake and later cs 1.6 (and now sc2) became one of the larget and best esport nations there are. It was what made swedish gamers believe that they could take on the seemingly unbeatable clans from the US.

Also fatal1ty made a short and not so successful cs 1.6 career playing with some top teams but never winning any major tournaments making cs 1.6 the only fps-game where he never had any greater success.

Looking forward to the next installment, keep up the good work!

I could talk hours about Warcraft 2. Its funny in a way, the player Chobopeon quoted(Blid) was a damn good player on Heat back in the day. When I started to play WC2 it was on Aol through Engage games. I didnt have the slightest clue on what I was doing. I tried out for a clan, played like total shit and failed miserably. However the kid who tried me out for the clan was this awesome guy. Worked with me on build orders and how to properly play the game(can you honestly imagine this happening at all in SC2 in this day and age?). To this day we are still friends, we played War 2 War 3 EQ Wow SC SC2 together. But I digress, My friend was taught how to play by Blid over on Heat, and as Blid past on his knowledge and builds my friend did the same for me. The WC2 community was pretty damn awesome thinking back on it.

Hell the funny thing is Warcraft 2 was the reason I made my first ever batch file because of Microsoft Zone. c:\>cd games\warcraft2 --> pkt:4 16 years later I still remember that command line. Oh the memories~
