Great work, and congrats on what you've achieved with this. Only criticism I would give is that you're being too lengthy/ambitious/verbose. You probably could keep people's attention better with a more focused history. You are sort of delving into the history of video games in general, and at times giving unnecessarily abstract intros to different sections.

How could you forget aboutNetrek?

Certainly it was the first real esport with a competitive culture by a decade. The PLATO FPS's all died off but Netrek continued on... (and continues to this day...)

It probably still is the best mutiplayer (for more than 2 players) RTS out there.

Real esports history starts with Netrek...

Awesome post but sad pandas on missing Netrek.

Great job so far. Next episode is going to be amazing, I just know it. I really hope that you have the time to focus more on specific players in the future episodes. There are so many people that are deserving of this kind of spotlight, but you obviously cannot talk about them all. However, I have faith that you will do a good job :D

Urgs. While I absolutely love the project, the details, everything, I have one huge problem with it:

It's not something you can show to people who aren't already interested. Mostly due to the fact that it has no video footage or anything. I saw the thread, skimmed through it, was like "omgomgomgomg must show gf/random parents/people", clicked the youtube link and was like "QQ fuck no way anyone besides me would sit through an hour of listening". =/

Any way to help you with some kind of video that shows what the hell you're talking about?

Very informative, my main criticism is there is nothing to watch, i'd prefer to see this as a podcast if that's the plan, but I feel the show would be a lot more entertaining if there was footage and images included while you are speaking.

Huh I didn't even realize Wolfenstein 3D was banned in Germany. I always thought Soldier of Fortune and Mortal Kombat were the only mainstream games ever banned here. Interesting.
