Anyway GL to Taeja and Team Liquid ! ...? Elo isn't a power-rank. It's done by wins and losses, go look at Taeja's page and how he has like 15 wins in a row or something ridiculous. Dongraegu has been playing better, but the Elo isn't rigged in any way.

I know very well how TLPD works but when the guy that won 9 ESV's is placed before the guy that won Code S last season and made two consecutive #2 at MLG (DongRaeGu who's #2) and before the guy that actually won the MLG's twice in a row and won his code S groupe (MarineKing), then there's a problem ! TLPD should really start giving points in proportion with the importance / level of the tournament. Because right now this is definetly NOT the korean top 5 and even more, Taeja as good as he is, is NOT #1 in the world. And there should be no doubt about this. On the same note, Huk who was the last standing foreigner at the last 2 MLG's isn't event in the "foreigner" Top 5. Same for Naniwa who was twice at the MLG's the second last standing foreigner. But you have Fraer and LiveZerg who can't be compared seriously for a second to Naniwa and HuK.

And MLG doesn't count into the korean Elo since it's not a korean tournament. But Korean dailies do, because they are korean.

I'm designing an improved ElO formula that applys to eSports for the last month, I think I know how Elo works. Event if MLG doesn't count in the korean Elo, it probably is in the "general" Elo. (this one : http://www.teamliquid.net/tlpd/sc2-korean/players/detailed-elo ) The current system is just plainly bad. Not event counting the fact that ESV's overall level is far lower than code S or event MLG's. there are some code S players there but in general it's not comparable.

I'm a fan of Taeja since his GSTL all-kill. Great pick for Liquid, nice to see another player helping Jinro to hold the Terran Flag up. ELO works by comparing the scores of the players, so simplified: Beat stronger opponents, get higher score. Why should it matter WHERE two players meet? If Taeja beats Jjakji or aLive in ESV, don't you think he's able to do the same in Code S?
