Taeja is the best Korean player in the same way that Fraer is the second best foreign player. Online tournaments tend to inflate the rank of the players. Just don't read more into it than what it's worth.

If you are truly convinced that TL "rigged" this when we build TLPD in 2007 because we knew in 2012 Liquid` would sign a player that at that point would be the number one according to ELO then I guess there is nothing we can say against it.

Yes, it's rigged and a big joke.

I'm sorry, saying that TLPD was "rigged" was harsh.
I just think that it is a strange coincidence that the player that Team Liquid just signed and that hasn't had as much success compared to a lot of other korean players is now #1. Just saying ...

So you're just insinuating it is rigged. Man up.

So you think that :

TaeJa > DongRaeGu (Code S champion and double MLG finalist)

and

TaeJa > MarineKing (Double MLG champion)

???

Look at the international TLPD where MLG games actually count. Taeja is nowhere near DRG or MKP(rank1). I think you just don't know what you're talking about

Inaccurate or flawed is completely different from being rigged.

Oh, you are completely right just think that the "timing" is weird. But yes, of course, there a big difference.

But it is the same for the korean TLPD where Taeja is #1 ahead of DongRaeGu that won Code S.
(Taeja's results for Code S = 0-2 #4 out of 4 in his group, and 1-2 #3 out of 4 in his group)

You find it weird that the announcement comes at about the same time as he is on top the ranking. ok.

If you stop posting here for 10 minutes, go read up just a little bit on elo and then go and have a look at his match history, you will understand that it is a matter of liquid announcing it when he is on a long win streak, which is harder to rig.

I will stop arguing on maths since no one seems to understand that there is already an inherent match weighting system in Elo's formula but the fact that the korean population is separated with the rest of the world just "flaws" the results.
I'm not saying that it's strange that TL announce Taeja at the same time as he is on #1 is strange, just that it's not the first ESV that he won so he should've been #1 for a long time which he wasn't.

Winning streak doesn't matters, strength matters. Code S "strength" >>> ESV "strength" and DongRaeGu had a 7 game win streak in Code S.

You obviously don't know how Elo works.

Well, first of all, ELO is a system to predict win chances of different players - if both got almost the same Elo points then it's 50/50 in a direct matchup.

Second, Taeja just won 2-0, so I guess it was not that much off...

And Taeja just beat DRG 2-0 so I guess that's that. Why do you insist there is something "strange" here. It's not like TL needs to plug their new player any more on their own site by putting him at the top of TLPD ._.

Clearly Taeja is overhyped with Korean ELO amirite? (Just 2-0'd DRG)
