Soon every foreigner event will practically be koreanfests and i'm fearing for the foreigner scene when that happens. As it looks now it doesn't seem like they're up to the task. Then tell the foreigners to freakingly just practice as hard as the koreans, is that sooooo difficult?

I cant think of how foreigners should be less motivated than koreans. Foreigners get more exposure to internatioal tournaments whereas only a few koreans can. Foreigners get salaries from their team whereas koreans dont. If anything, foreigners should be more motivated than koreans. It is just that they choose to not practice as hard as them. Just take a look at EG, their training facilities are the best, the EG lair is the best sc2 training house in the world and they get probably the highest salaries among progamers. But take a look at their non-korean recruits, can any of them stand a chance against an average korean players who do not get the same privileges as them?

Demu, Idra and Huk clearly have a chance. Maybe not every single person on EG, but that's normal for nearly every Team to have players that are better than their Teammates.

Idra: We have already seen enough of how this guy gets torn apart by average koreans. Demuslim: When is the last time this guy gets placed high even in foreign tournaments? Huk: Huk is considered as a korean recruit just like how select is considered as a foreigner. But even so, since joining EG, his results have been deteriorating.

Companies don't just fork $$ over. They look for a ROI. E-sports has a very bad short term ROI. Also it doesn't translate well to non technology or non gaming businesses. That ROI goes down even more. The fact that you posted, what you posted, just shows how much of a lack of understanding you have. I believe there is a nice show/podcast you can download on wednesday afternoons at 1pm now. Maybe you should watch/listen to that to understand a small part of the e-sports business side.

[/QUOTE] I'm so sick of this kind of garbage. Idra loses to Koreans, yes. But he also beats Koreans. Remember the MLG run of Boxer, Hongun and then Bomber? Remember when he took out Revival and then Puma at IEM? And Huk, he has been doing amazing. He won MLG Orlando, and just did well at the Winter Arena, and regularly takes games off Koreans. Fact is, these guys lose to Korean players, and also beat Koreans. You can't expect them to win every game and series, but they both have results that are more impressive than 75% of Korean players in the GSL.

But take a look at their non-korean recruits, can any of them stand a chance against an average korean players who do not get the same privileges as them? There are a lot of factors. In Korea, the concentration of gamers is pretty high, and if you already live in Seoul, living in a teamhouse and participating in the GSL isn't as bad as someone living in NA who has to fly to MLGs or IPLs. Furthermore, living in a teamhouse in Korea allows you to focus mainly on the game, while progamers in the foreign scene can't often live in teamhouses because of the geographic and low concentration of team houses. This means that they either have to live with their parents or find ways to get income. The latter forces them to spend less time practicing. EG's players represent a very small sample of the foreign scene's pros, and you can't just use EG as a model for all foreigners.

Idra loses wayyyy more, hes like 2-132123 this year. He won a relatively very weak IEM. Huk didn't do well at MLG despite his placing in winter arena. He got absolutely wasted by mkp and drg.
