That would be so horrible now that I see so many good possibilities.

I dunno, I've been let down before. I dislike the way they approached the chat channels "we've upgraded it so you can move it around and shit?" no the problem is the ENTIRE interface, try working from the ground up. Can't cure imperfection, start over.

what are you cheering about? theres nothing really special in this. i want to watch replays with my friends. i want a more detailled analysis of my OWN games. i want in-depth match-up statistics. i want clan support. WE want LAN?
the only one thing that seems interesting to me is the streaming thing. its probably a platform where you can watch a player via the game itself. so just the ingame data is sent to your computer via battlenet? nothing else i could imagine what that is instead.
edit: ok, if streaming is meant to be a background downloader, then this patch nothing but sucks ! lol !

i thought that the blizzard were as responsive as god is to prayers... guess i was wrong.

First thought: Oh god, they will fuck up balance completely. Second thought after reading: This is actually really nice.
Only thing I really miss is clan support and maybe shared replays.

all this patch seems to do, is let you resize chat windows and make it easier? to find custom games

Are you sure about this? So it'll be like joining custom games in BW? I hope we will be able to name our gamelobby's like "1v1 masters only gogogogo!!!"

Sounds decent, hopefully it's implemented well. I really wish they would add an automated tournament system like what WC3 had, it was really fun. Considering they are looking for a new lead designer for b.net, it might be that they got rid of the old one when they fired the 600 people due to how awefull a system that was created
Battle.net 2 sucks because it was designed by Xbox LIVE guys whose experience with interfaces is limited to those simple enough to work with a game pad. None of the things PC or even Blizzard gamers expected made it in because the Xbox LIVE guys didn't understand how important they were.

Given how official b.net 1.0 was I expect more of:
"IMPREGNATE KERRIGAN!11111" "Tower D NO OBBS!" "FA$T3$T!!!!!" "6v2 C0mpstomp!"

from EU forum respond
"Just to clarify, the streaming support refers to the technology of having the client already usable before all of the content of the game is downloaded. Basically you download core content and are ready to play while the rest of the content is being downloaded in the background. This is mainly interesting for players that use the Starter Edition to test the game. They won't have to wait for a long time before diving in." What the fuck...this is such a troll I couldn't care less about the shit in this patch. Blizzard is gonna just wait until HOTS anyway and make us pay another 60 bucks for basic features like LAN and moderated chat channels it's a joke, bw fuckin had this 10 years ago.
Seriously they musta got a kick outta that... the D3 beta has this ''technology'' and it causes the game to run like crap until the rest of the content is installed.
EDIT: seriously it's nice to see blizzard acknowledges alot of the problems but they half-ass alot of these patches and act like they are ''paving the road to HOTS''. Give us what was promised at launch including the name changes, moderated chat channels and shared-watching replays

Man if we aren't supposed to get happy then about what? Sometimes it feels like part of this community wants to be depressed about this game and Blizzard in every aspect whenever possible pah.
Edit: In fact the custom map improvement is one god damn necessary and appreciated feature.

First I thought the patch would be a balancing patch F**king up everything. Glad to see that they want to improve Bnet
|
Custom game system hell yes finally i won't have to play same 1v1 maps like shatterd temple over and over becouse it's first on the list
|
lol at first thought this was going to be balance changes and I was thinking wow that was fast lol xD. Good to see they are working on bnet but I do hope that they add shared replay and clan support soon :/.

Seemed like a lot at first, but it's actually not that big. I love how they fixed a non-existing problem with their "lan"-mode. People were asking for LAN because they wanted more stability, not to find friends in the same room.

In Blizzard we trust. Many if not most of the significant criticisms the SC2 community has made (apart from lan, the major exception) have been met with some kind of response. They've done an excellent job on balance, they fixed the map pool that was stagnant for so long and are using GSL and community maps, now they're addressing interface and custom games problems. While the changes are not major, it shows that they recognize the problem...I think we'll have a much improved interface by the time HOTS hits, probably with clan support.
You might rightfully point out that had they not meddled with BNET 1.0 so much, none of these issues would've even existed. And while it's true they made mistakes, if they recognize and fix those mistakes I'm not sure how you could fault them. They tried something new, it didn't work out, they're working to improve it.
It must sound like I'm a blizzard fanboy. But how many other companies are so good about receiving community feedback? The only thing they stubbornly refuse to give us is lan, which is silly, but if they implement some kind of acceptable alternative I'll survive.
Now Blizzard....about this whole "removing the Carrier and Mothership" thing :D

Custom game interface seems like a major step in the right direction but the rest is pretty typical stuff. Maybe it's cause I'm not a big custom game player but I certainly don't see the reason for the overwhelming joy some people here are feeling.
The chat thing is a cheap band aid, it might help a little bit but it's mostly just to keep the dying system alive until real change comes.
Not sure why I would really care to play people around me on a regular basis. I guess if I found people around who were cool it could help facilitate some friendships but that's a pretty big leap I think. Maybe it'll help with lag but I don't lag vs. anyone in NA.
Maybe the custom game stuff really is worth the all the joy, I don't know.
I hate being the negative nancy here but I don't get it. I realize it's a good thing and they are trying to do new and better things, that is very encouraging. But specifically these changes are causing people to go nuts with joy? WTF did i miss?
