Anyone know the actualy reason he isnt playing GSL qualifiers? Is he going to play in them ever again?
Maybe he was so disappointed by his code A knockouts that he decided not to participate until he felt "ready"? Just speculation on my part. yea i beat nestea and leenock but i dont feel like i would have a shot in code a!!!
Your record in Korea shows that you don't have a shot in code a :p

Huk is the only one I see doing anything out of that group : /

Looks like foreigners came up empty in day one with XiGua, MacSed, Slog, ToD, Trimaster, cArn, Windy, and desRow going down today. Hoping to see some good results from foreigners tomorrow!
|
XiGua did pretty well.
MacSed came within a game of qualifying, the 2nd foreigner to ever do that.
SLoG made it to Ro4 for the second time in his career. Very good performance.
ToD, TriMaster, MajOr and cArn didn't too well, sadly. cArn had only just started playing again, though.
desRow managed to take a game off Moon. Not too shabby.

Love the sarcasm from Naniwa. If....it's sarcasm :/ I hope you got Code S dude.

Awesome post. The polling on TL can really be improved. People should be able to select more than one player. Obviously Huk is the favorite, but it doesn't make sense that desrow is ahead of cArn in votes.

His first time in GSL he had just arrived and had barley even played in Korea and because of this he had very little time to adjust against a top notch player like Check. Fast forward he has to face one of the best ZvP players in the world Lucky two times in a row! Furthermore we arrive at Blizzard Cup where we are talking about a tournament with 10 of the best player around the glove who have proven them self as worthy participants, in each game Naniwa demonstrates insane amounts of skill and just barley loses each game in heart breaking losses. (Notably against Leenok he actually attempted to play a non 2 base all in which is almost non existent option to most Protoss) I also seem to recall the few GSTL games he won against Genius and lost against some Terran because he mistimed a flank by a few seconds (He pretty much had the game sealed)

No offense to him or anything but when compared to the rest of the GSL he simply aint/wasn't back then. It doesn't matter how close Naniwa was to said victories, a loss is a loss. Ofc he will face the best of the world. Guess what, that is what the GSL is, the best in the world.

Back then Check was in his prime (No pun intended ;p) and was a formidable opponent, in fact I'm pretty sure Naniwa even said Check was more challenging then a lot of the top Zergs he faces in ladder.
Your point about GSL being the best of the best simply reinforces my stance even further due to the longevity and close of Naniwa's games. Statistics don't speak for the quality of the games by any means, the GSL finals between Leenok and Jiakjio demonstrate this as statistically it would appear that Jiakji dominated, however that was no where near the case considering both players played very well in many close call games.

I mean he is right, every time you played in GSL you got stomped very hard. It seems the only time you do well is in foreign tournaments. It could be nervousness like you said, or also that foreign tournaments don't have the same type of preparation as GSL, since you're playing a bunch of players in a row rather than preparing for a week for 1 player.

If anyone does it it will be HuK. He is so awesome!
