A player like Stephano or MVP makes a lot of money from tournament winnings, HuK has a huge salery, so I doubt that such a player would do that (I may be wrong however). Now though, I am a huge fan of you TB, so much respect you are a really great person to have in the community.

While that is true, it would still be interesting to find out what else was involved in the decision. Is this purely to help BlinG? Will he be wearing a Cynical Brit patch or something on his jersey? Will he be doing promotional stuff? I am going to guess that if Bling would have to do anything in return that this would likely be something like appear on his Showcraft once in a while or supply him with a few replays in case he ever runs out of pro replays to cast. For a person like TB I doubt a jersey patch would be a very good form of sponsorship. From what I see TB appears to be like a guy that you either hate and want to burn in the frying pan or love and let him sleep on your couch. Having said that it would make improving his image this way quite hard. The only thing he could do was make people that aren't aware of him notice him but I'm going to go out on a limb and say that more people know TB then that know Bling.

So is TB going to be getting something out of this like Bling joining him on showcraft and stuff? I don't want this to sound harsh or as if I'm bashing TB, if it wasn't for him I would never have got into starcraft. But isn't this just a snake eating its own tail? it doesn't help grow the scene or the sponsorship within the scene. i don't think, in this case, TB is looking to profit or benefit from this sponsorship - if that's what he was looking for, there would be better candidates than bling (no offense to bling). TB has mentioned multiple time that it's really tough to be a (full-time) pro gamer in england because the cost of living, in comparison to some of the other countries (as an example, say, whitera in ukraine), can be extremely high and prohibitive. i think this is a case where he saw a chance to support a deserving individual (bling took the war of the roses showmatch much more seriously than demuslim - no disrespect to him either - and the improvement he has made since that dignitas search has been ridiculously amazing) from his country (national pride and all that) and went with it. not to mention, by most accounts, bling is a decent fellow. How do sponsorrs make money from sponsoring players? or do they not make any profit and is an act of kindness? i think, in general, it works much the same as advertising their brand. it's a double effect thing where 1) you (the sponsor) gets your name out there everytime the sponsored player is mentioned and 2) if you have a product to sell, fans of the sponsored player may be more receptive to your brand than your competitor, if only to support the company that supports a player they like. in this case, i think it's more a case of TB wanting to help an english player be able to play and compete full-time so that he can be as good as he can (there is really only two active higher level players, i think) than him looking for what he can gain out of the partnership.

Even as an analytic caster he's climbing up the ranks faster than most people acknowledge. I think he's becoming like those D- players you'd see in a BW live reports who gained so much knowledge by actively watching games their analysis of how a game would develop was better than B- players. err..no yesterday when he was casting the ROG, there was a part the cybernexis core got powered down and he said the protoss can't warp in stalker and sentries lol he really needs to improve his game understanding to be honest but I still like his style of casting. I just hope he gets the game more spot on and better at reading the game

Again to D_K_night: If you want to sponsor a local player, here would be a list of canadian players on liquipedia: http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/Category:Canadian_Players (please don't take deezer ;-) )

He's not only casting the game, he's entertaining as well and then you can make mistakes. Thats why he and Apollo are a great duo and thats why i love seeing TB casting SC2, he makes it fun for people who dont know every detail about the game. TB and Apollo got me hooked when i watched (because i was bored) a VOD on Youtube they casted and Grubby did something and they went banana's. I didn't even know why they went nuts cause i didn't know anything about the game at that time but it was entertaining as hell and thats why i started to view more SC2 games. And lets not forget, TB is not a SC2 casting pro (isn't his regular job) but he pulls more viewers on his SCi tournaments then MLG and Assembly do. SCi4 peaked at 70k viewers or some, Assembly doesn't come close to that this weekend so he is doing something freaking good.
