Every group is strong. Every group is too strong for IdrA me thinks. That's why I dislike these invites instead of going threw Code A & B like everyone else or at least top finishers in MLG.

Holy shit groups B and C.

CAnt decide which is worse.

I'd say C by far. Nestea and MVP alone make it a scary group no matter who else is in it. B is no joke though.

The way things have looked lately, I'd say Leenock + Fin = MVP + Nestea.

The determining factor really is the other players in each group, and even then things still look pretty even.

forGG hadn't done ANYTHING at all. It amuses me people are praising him as god and gives him as much credit as what MVP has achieved.

To be honest saying that after an INCREDIBLY short training period he put on a clinic of demolishing 1) a gsl super tournament winner (polt) and 2) a GSL season runner up and former BW champion (july) and 3) demolishing an up and comming protoss hero (oz? can't remember who it was). all in incredibly short and precise manners. Like he didn't just beat polt/july to, he embarassed them and made it look like they had just gotten into code a for the first time. To say this is all nothing at all is incredibly ignorant.

He deserves alot of his hype, to say he'll be champion right away isn't exactly correct but he will win a GSL in 2012 guarenteed.

He's been playing around 5-6 months.. I don't see where you get the incredibly short training period thing.

It seems lucky wasn't very lucky after all.

man if idra makes it out of his group, TL will explode

I don't really mind if he makes it out or not, as long as he plays good games and shows he's capable of beating them. I would hate to see him get 2-0'd easily or something.

And you know MVP is going to have some delightful cheese waiting for IdrA.

I feel bad for IdrA. Not only for the fact that Nestea and MVP are in his group, but there are three zergs too! I hate ZvZ with a passion!

And you know that if he does, MC will make sure they are in the same group for Ro16. And then half of Idra's fanclub, and half of the LR thread, will get banned.

Certainly an interesting pick for leenock, forgg is unproven, but he looked scary as hell in Code A

Why does this board go all bizzaro world when it comes to Idra?

Lets start with Lucky, he earned his spot for Code S, by beating the likes of Huk, Monster and Alicia.

MVP and Nestea can play on a level that only MMA can seem to equal at times. If Nestea is on a slump, well he is still better than the rest.

Now Idra, he isn't Code S material, not in the sense that he earned a spot to be either, either through a foreign tournament or getting through Code A. Idra will most likely end up dead last in his group, hasn't been in Korea long enough and his opponents (yes, even Lucky) are superior players.

It's because he's a foreigner. And he also happens to have a rabid fanbase. All of this gets in the way of rationality.

I haven't seen him on a tough competitive scene for a long time so I won't say he's got absolutely 0% chance. He's probably got less than 5% chance though.

NesTea won't lose to Idra in his star matchup, and we all know what MVP does to zergs. I don't know about Lucky, but reaching code S through regular conduit is no easy task at all.

Idra has a tough group, and IMO the only real doubt is whether he's gonna be 3rd or last.

If you refrain from watching MLGs, blizzard cups, etc, then don't spout stupid stuff like "he doesn't face competitive players"...

First of all, I never said he doesn't face competitive players, you're also quoting it, as if it were literal. I simply do not know what you're reading.

Second, what I actually mean, is that, apart from a lacking performance at DH winter and MLG Providence, his ASUS win which was only vs foreigners, and his downright terrible performance at WCG, he hasn't been seen too much in the comptetitive scene lately, so I definitely don't know what the result of his korean training is. Since that is extremely recent, I don't think it will have that much of a positive effect yet, and if I were to only consider his previous form, I'd give Idra maybe a 1% chance to get to Ro16. The only reason I give him 5% is because he hasn't been showing himself that much and I don't watch his stream at all.

In all honesty, I'm not going to watch gsl just because of the amount of terrans, seriously. That is ridiculous. Have the terrans face off in tvt just to normalize the amount, having double the amount of terrans over each race is absolutely stupid. Or, cap the amount of terran slots, something at least needs to be done.

i can name 1 T player that probably shouldn't be in code S.
Happy
i can name 3 Z players who probably shouldn't be in code S
IdrA
Sen
Zenio
i can name 2 P players who probably shouldn't be in Code S
Inca
Parting

Having double the terrans is because at least double the terrans deserve to be here.

Code S should be the equivilent of an OSL in terms of exclusivity and difficulty, not the proleague.

Zerg and protoss players aren't playing as well in general.

Happy definitely deserves Code S

I agree, Happy is pretty solid all around even if his TvP isn't the best.
Players: MMA, Boxer, Ryung, Life, TaeJa, Squirtle, Brown, Dark,

Well, seeing as how Leenock plays like July, and fOrGG ripped that nerd in half, I can only imagine how these games are going to go.

Leenock is so many tiers above July in terms of skill, it's not even funny.

Wow what 1st season of GSL 2012 does look epic I must say, some groups have more popular players in them but I disagree with anyone saying there are easy groups in Code S (which is looks like the majority of people think its difficult across the whole thing). I mean anyone of these players could set most tournaments on fire.

Each group has its own little sub plot, cant wait for it to start.

Hey guys we all know ForGG was the easiest possible opponent for Leenock so obviously it was a good move, he knows ForGG can only cheese and as it's the style he's familiar with it should be an easy victory

Some people probably actually think that o_O Nahh he dug his own grave with this one~

Forgg can only cheese?
If so, he is certainly someone can just cheese to be a champion. Just a bit hard to believe you can cheese to destroy bisu, Jaedong and Flash.
The best cheeser in the world for sure. And no doubt, Leenock will not hold.
