Please stop with all the TvT whine.
Such amazing players for first season of 2012! Code S has really changed from a year ago, the standard has really risen.
I can't wait for Jan 9th!

Having double the terrans is because at least double the terrans deserve to be here.

Code S should be the equivilent of an OSL in terms of exclusivity and difficulty, not the proleague.

Zerg and protoss players aren't playing as well in general.

You clearly haven't seen Parting play in the KSL. His micro is superb and his emphasis on pumping out observers for vision everywhere (something that seems simple, but so many Tosses seem to fail to do) is extremely effective as well. He beat Jjakji 2-1 and took out MVP in a team match in the KSL. Not to mention that he went straight into Code S from Code A, taking out all ex-code S players along the way.

To be fair, the people he took out were fucking shit against Protoss.

Doesn't matter though, PartinG is legit.

i just noticed, no TvTvTvT group haha. Not saying I don't like them. Just sort of sad there isn't one xD

Btw I just noticed MVP only has to practice 1 MU while the other 3 Zs have to practice two . I just hope Nestea advances. I honestly don't want Idra to advance but I don't want to see MVP win a 4th title neither xD. I hope Nestea will be in good shape this time. Or at least, not in bad shape, like he said he was in the other times =O

There really isn't any good way I can think of to fix it. Aside from it being completely unfair as well. Zerg and Protoss just need to step up their game. How about you force Zergs and Protoss to do better or else they're banned from the GSL, or such. That would be ridiculously unfair as well but that would make more sense than cutting Terrans just because the people playing Terran are good or do well.

Wow, I got like, the GREATEST idea ever on how Gomtv could sell more tickets:

Let the people pay by players in Code S. You Terran? You get twice as many games as P/Z for the same money. That's unfair. It'd be cooler if Gom sold tickets that allowed you to watch one races video's + Semi's and finals. And than, give a discount of 30% for Z/P in case half the games are Terran.
In fact, I find that a whole lot more fair, I have nothing to gain from wathcing Tvt time and time again, it takes long, is boring, Idon't care about tank wars, I don't understand their shit, so actually, I pay for bs?

No...just no...that would be such a huge convoluted mess of planning and payment options. Just learn to enjoy TvT or don't watch it..pretty simple.

Gonna be some sick games for sure especially in Group C, which will probably be the most viewed group for sure. Good luck to Idra and Lucky, and my most anticipated matchup will probably have to be Leenock v fOrGG can't wait!

No, it wouldn't.
You sort all games in 4 groups:
All
Terran
Protoss
Zerg
Now, you give people the option to buy either.
All: 100% cost
Terran: 50% + (15/32*50)% cost
Zerg: 50% + (8/32*50)% cost
Protoss: 50% + (9/32*50)%cost
This way, you still pay the 50% equal (organising, just basic cost + finals) and the second 50% is based on the amount of players your race has in Code S Group Stages. I think it might actually sell a lot more tickets because people that won't pay for TvTs they won't watch, will buy the tickets now.

By the way, how should I 'learn' to enjoy TvT. Why should I learn too? Because I HAVE to pay for it if I want to watch the GSL? That's nonsense. utter and total nonsense.

TvT is an amazing match up, honestly. I'm hoping some of the people who hate it today aren't not hating it simply because they've stopped watching all TvT ever since it was just tank viking back in the beta, because it has evolved very quickly into a really exciting match up. That would be a pity.

On that note, I've been wondering. What if two terrans both play [pure] bio? I don't think I've ever seen this, even outside the GSL? It would be funny because it would be like a "normal" match up, haha.

I saw a match between Bomber and some other Korean where it was pure marine macro vs pure marine macro. Eventually someone pussied out and built 3 tanks and won.

It was like the slowest ZvZ in the world before that.

Well, I watch the occasional TvT, but the differense between TvT and PP/ZZ is... It's just much slower. TvTs can easily stretch 40 minutes and while that might be interesting for some: I don't give a fuck about Terran.
I agree some matches are very interessting and highly paced, but some others happen to leave the casters to fill in 30 minutes of time because nothin interesting happens.

You mean likea normal SC2 matchup without too much importance of positioning?
I think i've seen this in Demuslim against KawaiiRice in an MLG. Seemed pretty awkward. More Medivacs + better concave are the only deciding factors. I don't think anyone wants to watch that.

I agree not every TvT is epic, but if a TvT isn't good, just don't watch it. I mean yea if you're watching it live it would suck, like if you don't want to wait longer for the next match to come up. But compared to ZvZ and PvP, even though they're much shorter, you're still getting the same number of games. And I can see PvP getting way more developed than it is now (longer, more interesting games) and ZvZ isn't that flat, but compared to TvT, TvT gets a lot more interesting games a higher % of the time, imo at least. Almost every ZvZ or PvP is usually not recommended, especially if you're talking about 90%+ recommended. But whenever 2 good Terrans play each other, it is almost always highly recommended.

shut the fuck up... each of those players has achieved his spot in a ruleconform way. nothing else matters. not even the statistics that suggest that terran is OP on the korean server as everyone is allowed to play terran in this tournament/to qualify for it...

You mean likea normal SC2 matchup without too much importance of positioning?
I think i've seen this in Demuslim against KawaiiRice in an MLG. Seemed pretty awkward. More Medivacs + better concave are the only deciding factors. I don't think anyone wants to watch that.

poor terran still plays with old style. Check a more recent TvT from likes of MMA or MVP

its funny how they named oz as "Z".. hah.

PartinG definitely deserves his code S spot, hes one of the most surprising up-and-coming players. If you watched him in KSL yesterday, wow. Totally impressed.

Group a-d look very interesting. Highlight is group c with two champions and idra. I am cheering for idra. In a regular foreigner tournament i have to wait until saturday night / sunday morning to see games of this scale - its gona be pretty sick. But MVP might get out of it veryvery easy. Nestea... i dont know he wasnt performing that well the last time i saw him play. Idra had some interesting korean encounter but this was before last MLG and NASL... So it is hard to tell at least... Its better to see idra loose against top tier than against some random korean in his strongest matchup

Sen's group is only slightly easier i think... not GSL title wise but if you look at performaces in the last weeks... also hard to tell... i dont believe that sen has more of an edge over his opponents than idra over his - both might fall apart this round allready.

In all honesty, I'm not going to watch gsl just because of the amount of terrans, seriously. That is ridiculous. Have the terrans face off in tvt just to normalize the amount, having double the amount of terrans over each race is absolutely stupid. Or, cap the amount of terran slots, something at least needs to be done.

i can name 1 T player that probably shouldn't be in code S.
Happy
i can name 3 Z players who probably shouldn't be in code S
IdrA
Sen
Zenio
i can name 2 P players who probably shouldn't be in Code S
Inca
Parting

Having double the terrans is because at least double the terrans deserve to be here.

Code S should be the equivilent of an OSL in terms of exclusivity and difficulty, not the proleague.

Zerg and protoss players aren't playing as well in general.

Everyone who's in Code S deserves to be there. We will soon see if Idra and Sen are good enough, or else they'll be gone soon as their groups are really tough. But at least Happy and Parting has nothing to do on that list.
