Group A:
I might be a bit optimistic to expect Sen to do well, Ganzi's TvZ is very strong and you can never count Boxer out. But unlike most "foreign" pros Sen has access to the KR ladder lag-free for a long time, and has the benefits of a proteam house (even if the TW houses are still weaker than KR houses)

Group B:
I like Leenock but his group is scary. I expect him to lose to Fin and fall to hubris just like MC did. Yeah Leenock has pretty good TvZ, but Fin's TvZ is a future MMA in the making. His only weakness is TvP, so it will be up to MC to take Fin down. I think MC can do it; MC himself has been doing much better lately, and with no more foreign tournaments to hit up he can get back into his groove.

Group C:
Like most, I'm going MVP/Nestea, but I wouldn't be surprised if it went MVP/Idra instead. As good as Nestea's ZvZ is, he's shown lately he's shown weakness in that matchup. ZvZ is so volitile I could see Idra/Lucky seizing BO wins, and then see Nestea lose to MVP for the gazillionth time As strong as Nestea's ZvZ is, MVP just seems to have his number.

Other groups are not as intersting imo. I hope DRG, MKP, and Nada do well though.

True but these are Bo3s. That makes it FAR less likely for either Lucky or Idra to take NesTea down.

I honestly think the Bo3 format actually greatly increases idras chances of making it out since seems like he mostly just loses to cheese.

But you're not considering his opponent. NesTea isn't gonna beat him because of cheese. NesTea in ZvZ is better than Idra in every aspect of play. If someone needs cheese to win the match it's Idra. NesTea's lowered his ZvZ level from completely undefeatable to almost immortal, that's all, he didn't suddenly become an above average pro, he's had some bad results, but not from any flop in mechanics, it's his decision making that made him immortal and that has been a bit, and just a bit, loose, which makes him look vulnerable.

Well tbh the last time IdrA played Nestea during the MLG World thingy, it was a close series- IdrA definitely had a better than average chance of winning their last encounter so I would may optimistically put it 60-40 in favor of Nestea, but probably more like 70-30.

MVP is a monster... but who knows... he's at the Slayers House which seems to have figured MVP out or summat... or MMA is just a bamf
Remember, no matter where you go, there you are.

I really don't see Nestea making it out of his group. He won't beat mvp, and I don't think he will beat both lucky and idra.

looks like I have to stay up to watch groups b and c :3 I'm guessing that ForGG will destroy and NesTea and MVP will make it out.

group selection for Ro32 is random....

leenock picked forgg since he was runner up last gsl.. the others are random

Certainly an interesting pick for leenock, forgg is unproven, but he looked scary as hell in Code A

Well, seeing as how Leenock plays like July, and fOrGG ripped that nerd in half, I can only imagine how these games are going to go.

WHAT? leenocks infestor broodlord zergling is like july?
Leenocks epic split map games is like july
Leenocks refusal to stop making drones until 100 drones is like july
Leenocks unwillingness to take risks and always playing the safest catchall openers in the early game is like july?

Actually NesTea got lucky in this group. (nice word game)

He would prefer to play some ZvZ matchups, since thats probably still his best one, rather than be in a Terran only group and get outmacroed as usual.

People always grossly overestimate foreign players when they play in the GSL, so if either Sen or Idra make it out of their groups, I will be greatly surprised.

This. I think Sen has the best chance of the foreigners to advance.

It all starts in 8 days .

A: Ganzi, Jjakji
B: Forgg, MC
C: MVP, Nestea
D: Bomber, Curious
E: MMA, ???
F: DRG, Genius
G: Happy, ???
H: ???, ???

There are so many teamkills as well, which changes the dynamics of the groups a lot.

How can you not rate aLive to make it out of Group G? o.O

H will be Puzzle/PartinG I believe.

I've got my fingers crossed for Zenio to make it out of Group E, but I'm not sure how likely that is.

How happy would I be to see IdrA advance... IdrA + Nestea (although more unbiased I'd say MVP and IdrA).

I'm only worried about IdrA vs MVP; MVP is just unreal and frankly his ZvT... ugh. Remembering him play Leenock... ;shudder;
