why the fuck do we want fans who are only fans for demuslim's hot sexy body? if we want more sc2 fans, i want them to think of the games first, the glistening pecs 2nd

So let me get this straight...you DON'T want a bunch of hot girls getting incredibly randy around you at an SC2 tournament? I mean, DeMuslim already has a very attractive girlfriend...he's not going to take them. They're there for you

What makes you think there will be "a bunch of hot girls getting incredibly randy around you" if a couple pro gamers go jogging some more? You are probably the kind of nerd who screams "OMG SHE'S SO HOT" every time you see any girl affiliated with a video game.

Looking better isn't only good for girls, better looking people get more exposure then ugly people. So look at the bigger picture. You're most likely not gonna become world ESPORT stars looking like the south park guy in the OP.

Name 5 western progamers who are overweight. What's that, you can only name one or two? Oh, so this entire thread is retarded? Thought so.

well to be fair a lot of the players would probably be considered "overweight" by medical standards. obese or unhealthily overweight though you are probably right

Hey, if we listen to our Nintendo Wii, we're practically all overweight.

(Not me, my Wii suggests I eat butter. It even displays a picture of Paula Dean)

Tell me where the OP mentioned being overweight. What's that, you can't? Oh, so your post clearly missed the point of the thread? Thought so.

He said style, and I think what he meant was changing the STEREOTYPE that gamers are ugly and unfit and have no style. We have plenty of handsome SC2 players. They just aren't really mentioned as being as such or advertised in such a way.

Well let's see. He posted a cartoon of an overweight gamer, contrasted western progamers with "active and healthy looking" Koreans (who stick to an exercise regimen), referred to westerners as being "unnatractive and unhealthy," and raised the question whether there should be an effort to improve western progamers' appearance. If you think weight isn't implied in any of that, and that it's only referring to stereotypes of gamers in general (rather than the appearance of progamers in particular), you're not smart. What aspect of western progamers' appearance does the OP want to improve besides weight? Their tan and maybe put some gel in their hair? Or nose jobs maybe? Well those things would be pointless really. Speaking of which, this thread is pointless.

So, there is something wrong with the OP suggesting that the players improve their health and physical appearance, not only for themselves, but for the overall image of progamers? I don't understand what your issue is. Being overweight is unhealthy, that's a fact, not some mean opinion. Everyone could stand to exercise more and eat better. Our sick culture has made it a huge taboo to say anything negative about fat, but the fact is being really fat isn't healthy, nor does it look good to most people.

I've asked you like 5 posts ago why this topic is pointless, you said for multiple reasons. Regardless of what defines a good looking progamer, why are looks a ''retarded'' topic for ESPORTS players?

The problem isnt with the SC2 community, most of the proplayers are good locking men... the problem goes WAAAY deeper into the cultural society. People wont change their mind until people like demuslim is on the cover of NY-Times.... which might sadly take a while.

My point is that there's nothing much to be improved. Only 4 overweight progamers have been mentioned in this thread and I can't think of any more. There's no need to make a thread about a negligible percentage of the western progamer population.

The fact that you can only think of four makes me think you aren't that familiar with the roster of progamers...or you have a very loose definition of "overweight."

No. Just no.

What i like about esports is that you can be popular whatever your look is. I actually like to sometime see players in the booth that are not really good looking (and sometimes far from that).
We have enough pressure with the society to take care of our look, we don't need that in esports.

If a player wants to take care of its fitness and look, that's up to him. Being in shape is obviously healthy and is already promoted by the society, it's not esports job to tell you that you should have balanced meals and exercise from time to time.

I get OP's point, he wants to drive more female fans into esports, well...if you want that, it's not going to happen through good looking players. If you want more female to get into SC2, then think at how you can get more female playing the game, liking it and then watching the pros. Not because they are handsome, but because their play is godlike and they understand that.

My point is that there's nothing much to be improved. Only 4 overweight progamers have been mentioned in this thread and I can't think of any more. There's no need to make a thread about a negligible percentage of the western progamer population.

The OP's point was more about how our programers are PERCEIVED, rather than how they actually are. I feel like it was less of a suggestion that they all get fit, and more of a suggestion that we promote progamers as sex symbols more, like "real" athletes, which I feel like could be interesting at the very least, if not good for expanding esports to a wider audience.

We need weigh ins and stare downs such as in UFC also, preferably with shirtless progamers flexing.
say you were born into a jungle indian tribe where food was scarce...would you run around from teepee to teepee stealing meat scraps after a day lazying around doing nothing except warming urself by a fire that you didn't even make yourself? -rekrul

The problem isnt with the SC2 community, most of the proplayers are good locking men... the problem goes WAAAY deeper into the cultural society. People wont change their mind until people like demuslim is on the cover of NY-Times.... which might sadly take a while.

You gotta start somewhere. Investment into looks is where sc2 progamers can start. It will help them beyond gaming too, anyways.

why the fuck do we want fans who are only fans for demuslim's hot sexy body? if we want more sc2 fans, i want them to think of the games first, the glistening pecs 2nd

Thought so.

The fact that you can only think of four makes me think you aren't that familiar with the roster of progamers...or you have a very loose definition of "overweight."

You may be thinking of Koreans. We're talking about western progamers here.

Just because you're not overweight doesn't make you handsome nor does it give you sex appeal. That's something you have to work for. And either openly admitting or unconsiously, you'll have a biased opinion on a person based on their looks. Also, try to tell me that sexy people don't draw attention, because they do.
And if pros don't want to shape themselves for the sake of eSports, they should consider it for the sake of their own marketing.
