This isn't about progamers looking good or exercising regularly, it's about stereotypes that people in our culture have against people who play computer games. As gaming and esports get more "mainstream" and accepted these stereotypes will go away.

That's the way it's meant to be, and it will not change soon, some of it it's to cultural differences, part it's the "technological" aspect. It's like Starcraft on TV argument, both sides have good argumentsm but it really doesn't matter. Do what You want, play games, be a doctor, work as a janitor (no pun intended). Freedom of choice is good. Don't look at others and make them embrace your point of view. If what You do is big/important other people will notice. There is a lot of difference between "cultural worlds" (don't know how to put it well enough), more then you might think. What is accepted in Europe can be blasphemy in Asia and great in US. Do whatever You want, and don't look at what other people think, as longs it's not "hurting" other people it's fine. ( Boy I went so deep with this post)

Apart from the question whether it's a great deal for e-sports or not, I don't see why foreigner pros should be considered looking less than average? Most foreigners look like totally average guys wearing perfectly standard clothes. I cannot think of more outliers than are expected in any set of this size, this really isn't an issue.

Hiring cute cheerleaders would be like hiring muscled up mascots for fat girls volleyball.

A guy can play great, win championships and everything else, but if when he shows his face on screen, if he hasn't been taking care of himself (I'm not talking about whether he's appealing or not, but his hygiene here) it's going to turn off people. Well, girls mainly. I can see how guys wouldn't really care. Anyone, appealing or not to begin with, that works out or takes care of themselves is going to be seen in a better light than someone who stays up 22hrs out of 24 and only showers once a week.

tldr; I agree with a better image for pro gamers, and I don't think white-ra looks funny ;o! But he has gotten a pot belly (._.) someone take that man to the gym! He could be so sexy <.< such a waste!

unattractive males that are unattractive due to their own choice, I.E. not taking care of their hygeine, hair, facial hair, or having absolutely no sense of style makes me NOT want to watch them, or root for them in tournaments regardless of playstyle or skill. I'm a straight male at that, so I could only imagine what a turn-off it would be for a straight girl or gay man to see a sloppy person in eSports, and formulate thier opinion of it as a whole off of them. A single negative image can outweigh multiple positive images.
