MLG paid for 4 Koreans to come and compete, and GSL stabs them in the back. This is completely unacceptable. "Mr Chae" said on camera that the Providence seed was given to Naniwai. They are nothing but of a bunch of sleezy liars.
on camera? Would be nice if there's a link to it XD

I don't think this was quite what you're saying. All it seems to be is a bit of miscommunication to be honest :/. If you could link the vod or something were mr. chae said that he providence code s seed was going to Naniwa (Naniwa did receive the MLG Providence seed to Blizzcup) then that would be great as well.

In America, we call that breach of contract, and it's not only unethical, but illegal.

I'm pretty sure that MLG didn't actually pay for 4 koreans to come to providence, and we know for a fact that no koreans were seeded in providence except for the ones who were seeded because of the points they had previously earned. As faras I know, mr chae never said on that naniwa was guaranteed a code S spot.
Actually yes they did, and yes he did - get your facts straight.
Mr. Chae:
We gave the seed to Quantic Gaming's protoss pro-gamer NaNiwa, not the Swedish youth Johan Lucchesi who plays the game well.
I just do not understand how anyone can support GOM after the snub a great foreign tournament like this.

No they didn't, please get YOUR facts straight. For the mr chae quote, most likely the seed (since it doesnn't specify) is the blizzardcup one, because that's the one that was given for providence. They never gave naniwa a code S seed.

I've never seen so much QQ in my entire life...

What if GOM told naniwa that he could compete in either the Blizzcup or the 2012 code s January season? That would be fair, but hey... Although Bizzcup is a GOM organized tournament it's not a part of their ongoing "standard"/regular 5 season tournament.

When Mr. Chae said on stream something about Naniwa not being in Code S, there were huge threads and outrage. The GOM statement came later--it did not kill the outrage, but there was outrage long before the official GOM statement.

Seems to me like they're telling their Korean audience one story, and they're scrambling to try to make the story fit for their international audience, which they've been telling a different story the whole time.

It was fine in the sense that they had a decision(a bad one imo) but it didn't involve lying to MLG, the fans and everyone that played in MLG.

Come on. Is it 1984 ? Of course they gave him code S seed. Do you think they stripped away his seed for blizzcup ? That would be stupid ~~

why iis everyone now releasing statements everyday ? Even Eg team... couldnt they just get the facts straight with mlg and naniwa first , and then say something ?
Why make a mess so big its not cleanable ?
Im sure if he was korean the punishment would be much more severe , so why do this and cause this confusion on everyone...
This is Starcraft 2 and GOM is trying to copy WWE ?
And Mr.Chae copying Mr.Vince Mcmahon ?

If Naniwa confirmed that GOM didn't even tell him he had Code S, then I don't see why people insist that GOM gave Naniwa a seed that they did not even say they gave.

Come one guys, Mr.Chae was referring to Code S seed from Blizzard Cup, not MLG!

and this whatever change Gom happened just about a month after the Providence, so change happened before Blizzard cup.
and what I don't understand from a couple of people out there keep saying Gom did dirty work and what not,
Did they take away code S spot for no reason? you think they just took it away from naniwa for no reason?
THEY DID NOT CHANGE THE RULE BECAUSE OF CHILDISH ACT OF NANIWA but coincidentally the change for 2012 was ALREADY MADE, even thought a lot of you out there sees or feels like the change was made on the next day after Naniwa's act.
And also like MLG said, the power is in Gom's hand, not from MLG. WITH THE NEW RULE MADE BEFORE BLIZZ CUP,
Gom was to GIVE code S spot as A GIFT, but Naniwa with CHILDish ACT BLEW IT AWAY, this. why is this so hard to understand?????????????????????
ABOVE im just saying as in facts,
now below is my opinion.
ALSO in Providence, Naniwa only won 3 Matches, 3 Matches to get into the final. because of some type seeding system which MLG has that I can not understand.
I was actually expecting the same format just like any other MLG, from pool game and on.
GUYS, 3 Matches to get into the final, JUST 3 Matches. and also he only had to win 2 GAMES! whereas leenock had to win 4.
and with Naniwa's history in code A, where he never passed above round 16 or 32, whichever is the lowest, is 0-10 or something.
in my opinion, the rule change Gom, even though it was last minute change and happened before blizz cup, was REALLY GOOD.
becuase Naniwa is no where near, in skill wise, to compete in Code S
Could you provide sources for your "facts" since "the new rule made before blizz cup" (in all caps) wasn't made public until after said cup, therefore one might think it was because what happened in the cup that triggered this response from GOM. source is when they announced the new format for 2012 GSL, which of course had this changed along with it. you can search and check the date if you want. though I do understand that you find "when exactly this changed occured" suspicious, you are Swedish, no way im talking to biased person the new format here http://www.gomtv.net/forum/view.gom?topicid=208740&cid=0&kind=8 has at least four unexplained seeds. two for code S and two for up-and-down matches, plus an unknown number of code A seeds. the GSL promised MLG participants one code S seed and three code A seeds. that format allows for that promise to still be fulfilled. so the new format is irrelevant to the promise. they've broken their promise for some other reason
Doesn't really matter. MLG broke their agreement first by not seeding the invitees (who were the GSL players at Providence anyways?).

MLG confirm GOM are off in LALALA land making shit up as they go.
I love GOM, but the way they handled Naniwa just disgusts me.

Providence was not an invite event - and it ALREADY HAD LOTS OF KOREANS IN IT. Who would they invite? Someone from gold league?
Can you link me to where it says MLG is obliged to give out korean invites to providence?

I thought that they did seed the Korean GSL players, it just happened to be based on previously earned points rather than arbitrary invites, which is how the seeds for the previous MLG's were determined. Weren't there more seeded Koreans at Providence than any other MLG?

i dont get why people care, if naniwa hadnt thrown a game hed be in code s instead of whoever the second code s seed went to
