Awesome. We need to see more of these Chinese gamers at events. Good luck!

My prediction of players in this team:

  • XiGua - Invictus Gaming. Arguably the greatest Chinese player and one of the "really fucking scary" Zergs. Seeing as he got a 2nd place finish in WCG 2011, I think he'd be wanting to flex his SC2 muscles in more international events.
  • LoveCD - World Elite. Not much known about him, a Chinese player who lost 4 - 1 to MC in a StarsWar invitational tourney.
  • Sen - Gama Bears. A Taiwanese team and player but I have a feeling if Sen's coming back to the GSL as a Code S invitee, they might try and get in touch with Gama Bears and ask them for permission to include Sen in their coalition team.
  • Lyn - Pandarea Gaming (not technically Chinese but part of a Chinese team. Seeing as he was one of the seriously recogniseable Korean WC3 players, they would probably try and sign him.
  • Ace - Pandarea Gaming. Another former WC3 player, supposedly really good in the Chinese scene.

pretty solid, but Ace has been inactive from competetive scene for a while, this spot might be LoveTT, also you should count F91 and Macsed in.

my roster are:
XiGua
Macsed
Uhen
F91
LoveTT
Sen

Sen can't be in the team, the Chinese hate him with a passion that most people reserve for horses.

Nobody hate sen in China.Do you know F91 and sen are very good friends? They often practice together.
The more you think, the more you get.

3 out of 3 chinese players made it out of their groups in WCG. I expect they'll do a lot better than people think!

if it was a wc3 tournament or dota chinese teams have some of the best wc3/dota teams. There were a couple noticeable ones in bw, Chinese player base is fucking huge. So I would expect alot to be pretty top level considering some probably play on korean server since the beginning.

The player base isn't that huge. BW and W3 were huge in China because they were free and didn't require a high end computer and could be played online with lan latency thanks to private b.net servers (I remember back then, each city/province had its own private b.net server, so sick). SC2 is the total opposite.

But yeah, WCG results were pretty convincing, China does have very talented players, and I expect the Chinese team to do well. Hope that Sen will join !

LOL @ the people suggesting SEn on a China Union team... you guys realize Taiwan and China pretty much hate each other right? There was even an incident at WCG when Chinese players demanded that a Taiwan player not use the Taiwanese flag. Its pretty serious business.

It's probably as simple as having a safe, stable income, while still being able to work with what you love (or maybe he lost that passion or drive to endure long practice hours)

omg that would be epic haha... just a tiny bit would be like nothing, but to the sc2 team, would be so helpful

XiGua will be on the roster, maybe Loner and F91. MacSed, possibly? Don't think Lyn or Infi will be on it; they have their own War3 tourneys to take care of in China, and Lyn specifically moved to China for other personal reasons besides. Sen probably won't be on there either. China != Taiwan.

It's actually quite funny...Xigua comes from a well off family in China. In fact, invictus is basically bankrolled by his family. He has said to me he actually doesn't practice much. Imagine if he did - would be frightening.

He said in some interview that he plays 40-60 games a day.

"E-sports": Xiaose (Chinese commentator of NeoTV, the channel that braodcasts GSL in China) said that you play about 80 games per day and that you have a smurf account that's ranked #1 in the Korean server. Is that true?
iG.Xigua: 80 games is a bit too much, that will be kind of ridiculous (laughs), I play between 40-60 games per day in average and 80 games maximum. I also do have a smurf account and it's currently ranked top 20 in the Korean ladder

He's not exactly going to say he practices fuck all is he? A bit arrogant if this is the case. Xigua is not a full time progamer at all, he does it for fun. He has other business interests...let's be honest, being a progamer is not the way to go if you want to earn real money.
