the big problem in China. SC2 is not really more ppl love it. they love Dota, LOL, CrossFire or MMO, so sad to me. Even no one play sc2 in public Netbar. Netbar is most important way for spreading sc2 in China. BLZ and Netease do nothing on it.

I really hope China gets to give it a try. Hopefully 5 players would be a starting point. I could definately see them picking up more players as they go. I just don't see how these Chinese teams would let their players go for such a long period of time. Might as well set up some sort of tenative loan deal. Who knows these players might end up qualifying for GSL further down the road or want to switch over to a Korean team to further extend their stay. Also I hope to see foreigner players return and try to make the GSTL roster for their respective Korean teams.
GSTL hype!!!! It will always be my favorite team league to watch!

Perhaps if these Netbars hosted more SC2 tournaments and/or barcraft events people would see what the game actually is. I can't imagine the BroodWar scene there has just disappeared.

When did Fenix all-kill IM? Or do you mean qxc? (I think it's him.) Fenix is on IM.

Regardless, your point still stands.

I highly doubt we'll be seeing sen as a part of this team. He is TAIWANESE, not CHINESE. Yes, there's a big difference if you're familiar with the two...

Believe me, Taiwanese are ethnically Chinese. Taiwan is just not part of PRC.

this is the most confusing part....sigh.....
why does English have to use the exact same word for so many different meaning??
you can never explain this clearly in English when language, nationality, race are all sharing an identical vocabulary

Taiwanese speaks Chinese(Mandarin)
Taiwanese are mostly Chinese(ethnically)
Taiwan is not a part of "People Republic of China"
Taiwan is also known as "Republic of China" or "Chinese Taipei" or "Separate Customs Territory of Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen and Matsu"(this long stupid name is what we are forced to use to enter WTO)

hope this is clear enough for everybody and not cause any more confusion

China had a BW scene? I didn't know that. I do know however that Warcraft 3 >> SC2 in China, just within the RTS genre.

Lol Brood War is probably currently bigger than SC2 right now in China.

With players like Pj and Lx, China was probably the second strongest BW country, but that really doesn't say much because Korea was so so far ahead of everyone else, in the sense that if you picked the one hundred best BW players in the world, they'd more likely than not be all Korean.

By your logic, Americans are ethnically British. US is just not part of Great Britain.

British is not a race, it is a nationality. And you can't even say Americans are Caucasian. Too many people in US are not white. If you are not from PRC or Taiwan, I definitely know better than you on that issue.

Quite interesting. Well, if and when Chinese BW converts to SC2, and by some ungodly miracle War3 switches to SC2 as well, I have little doubt China could also be the second best SC2 country.

In regards to the huge BW gap between Korea and everyone else, we'll probably see just the same if and when BW in Korea switches over to SC2. Keep your eyes on Kespa, boyo. Some BW teams are already playing SC2. Within a year or two, who knows, Kespa and the teams could decide it is time to switch to SC2. Surely then, Oblivion will open.

Chinese players could gain a lot by having more Korean experience, their style is too secluded to their region, they will be much stronger through constant competitions with international scene. Without much exposure to international scene, they are already better than 90% of the foreigners, with more exposure to int scene, learning of more styles and such will make them much stronger.
