dont get me wrong, they are both spectacular players, but they have critical flaws

Idra needs to cheese more so that people will play honest against him. All to often you will see someone getting an edge on him because htey are playing against idra, not becaus ehtey are playing against a zerg that has every zerg strategy at their disposal.

Sen has a critical flaw in the sense that he falls apart late game. I have seen him take a commanding lead on a ton of games only to throw it away in the mid-late game by not expanding or takign advantage of his situation.

Hopefulyl i am wrong about this, and hopefully they just dont get right down to code a (where I think they belong), but that is my guess as to how this will end up.

Lmfao

Have you not watched him in the last 6 months?

He cheeses protoss 30-40% of the time, doing hatch cancel roach all-ins, hydra/nydus timing, roach drops etc.

Agaisnt T, he rarely does roach/ling all-ins, but why should he if his muta play is extremely powerful?

They just usually lose becuase zerg cheese is shitty unless the protoss plays ultimate greedy like Naniwa did vs Leenock with 1 cannon nexus first.

Interesting.

I only saw idra stream a couple days ago and he didnt appear to do so well in any of the MU. Probably due to the recent move to korea, or just because I watched a relatively small sample of his games.

Based on what you say, I retract my reasoning; however, I retain my skepticism

Idra will do good, as long as he avoids protoss in GSL.

It's not as thought Idra doesn't deserve Code S. When he left Korea he was in Code S, if memory serves me correctly he was actually the most stable foreign player in the GSL. Top 16-8 each season he was there. Wonder if he'll be able to make a run into top 4? All that time in America may not have helped his play, but maybe it was the psyche that was failing him?
Just because you can, doesn't mean you should...

I think a lot of you that are saying that Idra or Sen don't deserve their spots should reconsider. Idra has performed very well in the past gsl's when he was in code S, has had many recent strong finishes in foreign tournaments. Sen has had very strong consistent performances for just as long. Everyone that is jumping on the stephano band wagon is doesn't seem to understand that at a professional level consistent play is more important then winning a few tournaments. That is my opinion on why Idra and Sen deserve these spots

I never understood this argument. Yeah, everyone was worse back then. So what? Its not like the skill level of everyone outside of GSL stood still ... I am not arguing if IdrA and Sen are code S level or not, I just dont see the logic in your argument.

Thats why Code S players always win vs everyone in the world and they never lose and are so over the top that they win every tournament they enter.

Oh wait, they don't.

GSL is no isolated universe where players are just different. They are still playing the same game and they lose in tournaments outside of GSL and people that didn't play in the GSL all year long are capable of doing well in GSL Code S.

The focus should Not be whether Sen & Idra qualify or not, should be setting a realistic expectation for both of them. I highly doubt they would get into round of 16.
Keep in mind that Sen has been practicing on KR+TW ladder for at least a year, while Idra only start doing so in the past couple weeks.

It all depends on which race they will get to play against and which opponents of course but I don't see them making it to the ro16 neither.

They are two of the best foreigner code s zergs, but I'm afraid they might have a difficult time in code s, which as we've seen in recent days is becoming increasingly selective. I'd pin stephano as the only foreigner zerg who could do well in code s, although I'm sure sen and idra could hold their own.

Well..., after the grouping came out, all is moot. IdrA got screwed by having NesTea And MVP in the same group. Sen had to play against 3 Terrans (not a big surprise).

-.- honestly its a pretty damn good excuse to lose and have the reason be "I played Nestea and MVP"... geez only 6 GSL titles? what a paltry amount

because of time constraints, i usually only watch my favorites and foreigners in GSL... and recently, there hasn't been deep foreigner runs... hope IdrA and/or Sen can change this!

I think what he meant is saying "he used to be in Code S when he left' has no validity anymore since Code S back THEN is Code B NOW.
