Christ... If you accept an invitation to a tourney that people PAY to WATCH, you MUST show your best, even if you're a weak kid like Naniwa. Sigh, somebody must teach this kid a little bit of respect on (e)sports. I would love if he gets banned from games on Korea and stuff like that. <3

Drivers who are so far behind the front of the pack that they have no chance of catching up will let others pass them with no fight because the RULE of the sport is that you have to get out of the way if you suck so bad. That rule exists in racing because it's incredibly dangerous for both drivers...because shit like this happens: + Show Spoiler + Mark Webber flips in Valencia '10 because Heikki Kovalainen was slower lap traffic. But back to Naniwa, I think it was incredibly disappointing for him to throw the game. I'm not necessarily a fan of Naniwa, but I expected to see him put up a fight against Nestea. It might even be a little disrespectful in some aspect. I know that there's nothing on the line, but seriously man, at least give it your all until the very end.

Naniwa is, like khaldor said, a very straight forward guy... after 3 games on the highest level a protoss could play he was mentally exhausted... and nobody can blame him for that.. So I'm glade he made this choice.. Against Nestea you only can show good games when you are in best shape... he wasnt.. Instead of showing a mediocre game (where nothing matters) he gave it up right away. It shows how ambitious he is.. To be honest: After that performance I have even more respect for him.. although i do not like him that much. Agreed, especially the bold. Idra does this too (to a certain extent). There were times when Idra GGed even though he was winning (One of the EG Master's Cup's game was one for example last I remembered) but yet it never gets made a big deal as this (it does but just minor complaints). The flaw is the system - There should be some reward or incentive to still keep playing or winning. Maybe for GSL points, maybe a slightly bigger prize money, just something.

Why was Naniwa at the Blizzard cup? To play with honor and chivalry for the fans? No, he was there to make money.

Thx for fighting Nani. However, I think you should understand what a proffesional is. Ultimately you are playing for the fans. And the fans deserved a Nestea v Naniwa. Sure. It can be said that that match shouldn't have been played just beacuse there was nothing on he line. Sure, I think I can get your frustation to justify your actions. Those were tough tough tough losses. However you are a pro. Never ever forget that. After all that you are still my favourite toss player, Keep it up man

How is the Idra situation even comparable? He was playing with an intent to at least play the game out, if not to win. Naniwa had no intention of playing the game at all. What Nani did makes sense from a personal perspective (he has nothing to gain) but ultimately it was a selfish act because he didn't care about the audience and his opponent. edit: grammar fix

If they pay him to be entertaining they can kick him now, but they wont, because they pay him because he is the top foreign player in sc2. People need to stop living in a dream were sc2 players are there for the fans and the only task they have is to please the audience. If you dont like it, leave but we all know that people wont since the competative gaming is what makes it so fun. The ffgs, show matches and other shit are just a bonus now and then and nothing important.
