Yeh lol. If he wins this thread will blow up with "I TOLD YOU SO". And if he gets stomped it will be flooded with " I TOLD YOU SO"

This is good, everything here, the back and forth arguments over whether a player is "good" or "really great".
Why? Because it shows that people here care! We are doing exactly what sports fans do, debating whether or not Lebron is overrated, whether or not Aaron Rodgers is the best quarterback, whether or not Cristiano Ronaldo is better than Messi, etc.
It shows passion, and the loyalty that fans show to certain players. This enthusiasm will help propel SC2's growth into 2012.
As for Stephano, he's good, but let's see how he does tonight.

Maybe he is very good, but not #1 or extremely good. Some gamers have a run here and there sometimes

It's exactly this irrational attachment to a team or individual that annoys me the most about sports. Most people's favorite team/player is totally arbitrary and a result of who they happened to watch first when they started getting involved.

Can't wait for stephano to get smashed so I can here the lamentation of his fanboys

Stephano is really arrogant if you havent noticed. Im pretty sure he is bs'ing about how much he actually practices.
Sure it may not be as much as some pro's, but i highly doubt he practices only 3 hours a day, just sounds like bragging to me.
"yea i practice 1/3 as much as most pro's and im still better than them"

Bagration made a nice point and you turned it into a negative one. Good job.

So either way someone will have told someone else something. Everybody wins!
By the way, he's the first one to say he won't do well at the BlizzCup. He's only had one week of Korean practice so far and you all should know that is not enough to start soaking in that type of training.
Also, MC and Hero are both in his group. I don't know how teamhouses manage training when three players have to be ready to kill each other...

He certainly practices a lot more now, its obvious. He even streams for more than 3 hours...

He's a good player no doubt but I do believe theres a big difference between gsl and ladder/foreign tournaments. I think GSL is the place to really show how good you are or aren't because you can prepare for your opponent for like a week. If anything I think this is only the beginning to see how he does

What a pathetic, sad, and mean-spirited way to watch competition. Have fun dude.

Hopefully stephano doesn't turn into an IdrA where whenever he's in a tournament a shitstorm follows along whether its haters or fanboys.
imo stephano is a great players , comparable to the likes of sen , ret and idra. But Stephano being the BEST zerg foreigner ? I'm sorry , that's an exaggeration.

Maybe "Why I Think Stephano is a Really Good SC2 Player" is sensationalist by definition or not, such titles would probably normally read more like "Stephano to win Starcraft 2 Player of the Year award?" without such an award even needing to exist, the title written so that it sounds like fact when it is only there to grab your attention and supposedly to make you ponder the title's question.

Stephano is a good player no doubt but he's been figured out and as we've seen his games are becoming less and less impressive. Results don't mean that his game play is actually that impressive.
He never feels dominant and flawless in games.
TBH though this seems like a really questionable topic to warrant its own thread...

What a pathetic, sad, and unhealthy way to spell 'hear'. I don't think TotalBiscuit would agree with your mentality either.

I agree, he's sort of cocky and obnoxious. And people hype him too much.
But when you get down to it, he's also good. I also disagree with the distinction between the a "Korean" and "Foreign" model. To me, there is "Practice More" and "Practice Less"

The funniest is that nobody would actually be crying, but the only reason why trolls think people would, is because it would be the only and poor compensation they could ever imagine to get for being so hard-working in their trolling.

Agreed with OP. Stephano truly has a lot of potential and is definitely my favorite Zerg atm. Nestea may be good, but he relies way too much on preparations. Stephano, on the other hand, is pure talent and will grow more than any other given he has the determination for it.

Obviously you haven't seen the hate on Bisu fans in BW. There seems to be two groups there. Bisu fanboys and those that feed on their tears.

A lot of stephano's fans doesn't believe he'll advance.
And even if he goes 4-0 in his group, haters will say it's because of the bo1 Nothing gonna change wathever his results are today.
Haters gonna hates.
