He should get kicked out of Slayers. He doesn't deserve to gaze upon The Emperor.

In all seriousness, I do believe he should be kicked out of the team.

Just like BW right?

If you aren't allowed to talk you can't ask the other guy to leave. Having to forfeit a match is a lot better than your entire career. Of course this is assuming that they didn't plan ahead of time for Coca to lose.

At this one MLG some player on the team EP basically forfeited some of his games to WhiteRa so he wouldn't have the extended series advantage. This is the same shit, participating in a tournament and not playing your games all the way through. If I remember correctly, the guy brought his workers to the corner of the map and left the game after GGing. How the fuck does CoCa and Byun get so much shit when that guy was fucking praised? Both players threw games and that is by definition match fixing...what I'm saying is that the punishments handed out are too fucking harsh. I'd understand if both players were taken out of GSL and banned for a few seasons, but a life ban is not fucking acceptable. This inconsistency in the enforcement of integrity of the tournaments is really pathetic...and both the teams and tournaments need to rethink this through.

ill say this one more time. White-Ra showed up late and MLG fules forced him to forfeit even though White-Ra offered to off-race or play down a game. The player was protesting that fact it was not about the extended series advantage. so please stop comparing the two.

It's the same thing in essence though. You're depriving your viewers of "real games" in a tournament setting.

Personally I only think it matters if people are paying you for doing it and then betting on the result. While I appreciate the history here and can understand why Slayers have taken this action it reeks somewhat of following the letter of the law as opposed to seeking justice.

nah idra gg's early way too often for him to be matchfixing or else he'd be a millionare by now from getting paid for it.

IdrA fixes matches everytime he prematurely gg's.
Fantasy always thinks that his opponents have fixed the match for him to win, which is why he never leaves.

Am I doing it right?

you seriously cant compare the incident with what happened in BW.

you always seem to be on my ass, but w/e. This "match-fixing" might not be to the same extent as the ones that occured in BW, but match-fixing is match-fixing.

KeSPA's banned players for calling for a pause with only two p's, though.

Every incident of a player throwing a game isn't "match fixing". Nobody had this reaction to that random guy in MLG that threw 2 games to his own detriment to put WhiteRa on even ground when he was late. Nobody is demanding Idra get banned for life for forfeiting games to go get some sleep. It's pretty common knowledge that players throw games all the time to try to secure themselves better bracket spots in tournaments and we don't get out the torch and pitchforks. We crack jokes and laugh at the absurdity. Or in the case of the guy forfeiting two games to WhiteRa, praise him (And let's be honest, it's not because he's being honorable. It's because we like WhiteRa...)

If you read the actual chat and see the tone of it (in Korean), it's pretty clear that it's just two guys screwing around. So why the need to crucify them?

Because this incident caused negative effect on team Slayers,Boxer, and Prime for having someone that lacks pro gamers mindset, ZeNex for their former players throwing matches, and making Esports look like a joke.

i havent had time to read the whole thread, but basically am i correct with this summary?

" Coca and byun are playing against each other in some cup, but apparently they are friends and because coca already has a code S spot, he felt the need to drop the game and give byun another chance to get a Code S or Code A spot, Thus in other words it can be summed up as match fixing."

I'd say punish them , make sure an example is made but don't ruin their careers over this, people fuck up. Atleast one more chance should be given eventually .

I don't know how people can criticize byun and coca for playing around in a tournament with no major prize while not doing the same for the farce that was stephano vs bratok in their attempt to avoid playing sen at assembly. This was a stupid mistake on both their parts and they are already being punished pretty severely for it. I hope to see the both of them back in gsl eventually.

Banned? Not quite, they did declare a forfeit for it, but nothing outside of that particular match.

Oh and to all of those saying that this isn´t match fixing, well yeah. But still what they did goes against the spirit of competition(and they did it in front of the audience) so thats what probably bothered the Koreans.

The punishment may be harsh, but they probably want to set an example. its easy to understand, anything that goes against the competitive nature of sports is something that bothers people because instead of watching a contest where players give it all now they will have in the back of their minds that its just play pretend(well, not that extreme, but I hope I made myself clear)

And its not like they were permabanned from the competition, they screwed up, they are getting punished by this. They will probably be back(I certainly hope so)

Shrugs, the issue is more that they were dumb enough to say it as opposed to it actually happening.
