coca should be glad that he isn't getting fined or in jail, even though I don't agree with everything that has happened, there's no doubt that match fixing is a HUGE no-no in korea.

They should be happy that they're not facing criminal charges.

Lifelong bans for a pair of players that decided to dick around once? And what criminal charges? What would you charge them for? Get real...

This clearly wasn't some sort of "Savior-esque" conspiracy with gambling rings involved. It was just a pair of kids being idiots. It's not like it's something new to the gaming community. I know people are a lot more sensitive around the issue ever since the BW scandal, but people are blowing this way out of proportion... :/

This was in the North American qualifiers for ESWC. EGDeMusliM realized he couldn't make it to the tournament so he forfeited his games vs EGIdrA, which allowed IdrA to qualify. This sent DeMusliM to the loser's bracket where he also forfeited his games vs EGAxslav, also allowing Axslav to qualify.

It's funny because most koreans are flaming Prime for not kicking Byun out of the team house. I guess you don't find match fixing to be a serious issue.

wow just stupid especially considering the BW scandal. the punishments an overreaction but i agree with it that this is something that can't be tolerated.

one more thing i dont care if it ruins SC but bring back the Maestro.

Damnit Fionn, you put Coca high on your power rank and this is what happens >.<

Seriously though, fuck. Is there any more evidence, outlying factors?

Not really, since Byun (Ghostking) proceeded to lose to Creator in the Ro16.

A little weirded out by how Mr Chae said they were being investigated for "swearing" as well. If it was a foreign tournament which allowed it, then it's really up to the tournament how they want to regulate in-game chat.

Wow. Just. Wow. Unbelievably dumb by both Coca and Byun. I hope they learn their lesson from this. They are professional gamers and should treat all broadcast games seriously.

This makes you wonder how many players have thrown games for team members in live tournaments. Guess there's no way to know unless they say something that explicitly gives them away in chat.

Now this brings up 2 interesting scenarios.
A) Guy admits he threw a game for some teammate in a tournament but the teammate doesn't know.
B) Guy admits he threw a game away to obtain better seeding in a tournament.

Should the guys who threw the games from scenario A or B be subject to discipline?

I think it's the right idea to bench Coca and Byun though, especially since match fixing right now is such a touchy issue in Korea. Would look really bad for Slayers and Prime if they didn't take any action. But damnit, Coca is one of my zerg hopes QQ. I just hope this doesn't damage his career irrevocably (sorry Byun).

He didn't break any laws though. The punishment is way overblown for what actually happened.

Given the match fixing scandal that went on a few years back, I completely understand the response by SlayerS, and I think its appropriate.

Real shame, too. I liked Coca's play and enjoyed seeing a SlayerS zerg doing as well as some of their Terrans. I think he'll be back at some point, but I'm not sure if it'll be with SlayerS.

Coca had a major brain derp right there. Boxer runs a tight ship too.

Well could you imagine if any sort of match-fixing scandal became affiliated with the Emperor? It was bad enough with Savior...

SlayerS doing exactly what they need to do by apologizing, distancing themselves immediately, and evaluating the situation from afar. This is serious shit.

What the fuck were Coca and Byun thinking?

I hope this gets solved quickly. I liked Coca too

koreans find it a big deal, honestly foreigner opinion is irrelevant. if what is said is correct koreans really fucking despise and the evidence of foul play is laid right in front of them in the chat...-_-

Really? I really don't think it's that bad, since Boxer only wanted Coca some time to reflect. That's all. AGain, I don't think Boxer is going to want a lifelong ban or anything.

Is Taeja gonna replace CoCa since he was 3rd in his group? or is it gonna be an empty slot for code S?
